Grandma felt a surge of regret for not properly nurturing me. She was questioning herself for not suppressing me enough so that I'd just be a puppet of hers. Why did Henry turn out like this instead?
"A father who's afraid of his own son. How pathetic can you be?" Grandma scolded. But at this point, there was nothing she could do to change Henry.
Henry was just a useless freeloader. There was no point in counting on him to solve anything.
"There's another way. Have Chris go and beg Cole. As long as Cole is satisfied, he might even return the company to me," Grandma said.
At the end of the day, wasn't Joplin Group at risk of being acquired due to Chris' and Henry's incompetence? If even one of them had any business acumen, Joplin Group wouldn't have fallen so quickly.
"Grandma, I can't go there. Cole will kill me." Chris was a complete coward. He could enjoy all the luxuries in the world happily, but he would flee like a rat the moment he had to shoulder any responsibility.
"If that's the case, I can't help you either. You might as well just wait to be kicked out by Cole," Grandma snapped.
She had been in power for so long that it was about time to let go. If Henry and Chris weren't going to fight for themselves, then she had no reason to worry about their future.
Before she left, Grandma didn't forget to remind Henry, "But the two of you will have to cover your own expenses. I don't have a single penny to give you."
Henry's expression changed. How was he supposed to survive without money?
As Grandma walked away, Henry panicked and called out to her, "Mom, I'll go. We'll both go."
Chris' expression darkened when he heard that. He tried to stop Henry, but Henry didn't give him a chance to refuse.
"Mom, what do you think we should do?" Henry asked. Neither he nor Chris had any ideas.
Grandma ordered Henry to visit Mom. "Make sure you convince her to come back no matter what."
