The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 381

Yolanda was sobbing uncontrollably. As she gasped for air, she questioned, "Are you even human? I'm your sister!"

When she first heard of the news, she desperately wished that Grandma had really sent Chris overseas. At least then, he wouldn't be using her for his schemes.

Ruth sat beside her and tried to console her. Even though Ruth wasn't happy about it, she couldn't think of a better solution.

"Yolanda, I know we're asking a lot of you, but think about your brother and me. Our family has endured so much just to be accepted into the Joplin family. What was all this suffering for if we don't achieve it?" Ruth said.

"So, you're just going to sell me off?" Yolanda accused.

Chris lost his patience and shouted at her, "What do you mean by sell you off? I'm helping you find a good family. Don't be ungrateful."

"You're just selling me off, plain and simple," Yolanda retorted.

She started to throw things around. "Where's Dad? I want to see him."

"Dad agreed as well," Chris replied.

Yolanda was stunned. She stared at her brother and muttered in disbelief, "That's impossible. Dad would never agree to this. He loves me too much. He wouldn't say yes."

She clutched her head, refusing to believe that Henry would agree to this.

Chris looked at her tear-stricken face and felt a moment of guilt. "Yolanda, you have to make this sacrifice for the sake of our success."

The wedding date was quickly set. Grandma remained oblivious to the fact that Henry also had a daughter outside the family.

Back when Henry's affair with Ruth was exposed years ago, Grandma had forbidden them from continuing their relationship.

Yolanda was born years later, and Henry never dared to tell Grandma about it.

Even I only knew about Chris, having never met Yolanda before. Little did I know that the first time I met Yolanda would be when Yolanda was about to get married.

Yolanda still refused to give up. "Dad, is it true? Did you decide on this?"

She knew Chris far too well. He was someone who would do anything for personal gain. Yolanda was far more willing to believe in Henry.
