Lincoln silently looked at Archie for a while. "Mr. Baxter, you've been acting weirdly since last night, and you're saying weird things right now. Did something happen? Can you tell us about it? If something did happen, maybe we can help you with it."
Shaun said solemnly, "What could've possibly happened, Lincoln? Dad just wants to turn the tide of his situation. He's willing to say anything to get you back. However, if you do have a change of heart, then the Baxter family will truly be doomed.
"You saw how Mr. Ironhead was. With his temper, if he causes a scene now, our family will be destroyed immediately. Then, all of our hard work and suffering in the past would've been in vain. So, even if something did happen, there's no turning back now. Besides, Nolan means nothing to us."
Lincoln sighed and said nothing else. After all, as Shaun had said, there was no turning back at that point.
Suddenly, Archie scoffed and said, "In that case, what are you planning to do with me? Are you locking me up?"
Shaun shook his head. "Now, why would we do that, Dad? You're my father, and I need to respect that. However, under the circumstances, we need you to stay out of public for the time being. There's an empty villa in the suburbs, so please stay there for now.
"Once we're done dealing with Nolan, you can return here. So, don't worry about it. When the time comes, I'll make it up to you."
After he said that, he didn't waste any more time and turned to Lincoln. "Lincoln, please get someone to bring Dad to the villa. Also, I hope they can take good care of him.
"After all, I'm sure you wouldn't want Ironhead's men to watch him instead, right? Not only do we need to take care of him, but we need to protect him as well."
In some ways, that was a threat.
