The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 274

At this moment, Megan and Kara thought Nolan was just a psycho who spouted nonsense. They thought he had been so badly affected that he thought his imagination was real.

The smile on Megan's face slowly faded as she shook her head and sighed. "I suddenly feel quite bad after seeing what you've become. Nolan, why did you go crazy all of a sudden?"

Just then, Kara said with a grin, "He has gone crazy since long ago. He's a psycho. I suspect that he's trying to gain sympathy by acting crazily.

"Megan, you'd better not fall for it. I know you're compassionate. It'd mean that you've been deceived by him if you relent."

Megan nodded and smiled. "Don't worry, Kara. He can't deceive me. Besides, he should see a doctor if he is sick. Considering our relationship in the past, I can still pay for his medical fees at a psychiatry hospital."

With that, Megan cast her gaze upon Jeanne and sneered. "Jeanne, have you made the call? If what he said was true, you'd have a bright future and rise to the top. By then, I probably have to butter you up."

Jeanne dared not reply. She shook her head firmly. "Are you kidding me? Why would I make the call? Nolan is insane, but I'm not.

"Megan, don't listen to his nonsense. I know my place well. If not because you've been treating me well these years, I couldn't even afford a house and a car. I'm grateful for you. Megan, don't you trust me?"

Did Megan trust her? Megan simply smiled faintly and didn't reply.

She was no fool. She could tell Jeanne felt she had been treated unfairly since a long time ago. But she couldn't be bothered to care about it since Jeanne didn't mention a word.

After all, Megan felt great to have her best friend listen to her orders all the time.
