Audrey didn't choose to trust Nolan in the end.
At this moment, Nolan didn't look sad or distressed. He only seemed slightly disappointed. He sighed and looked at Audrey. Then, he nodded and said, "We'll always be good friends."
This simple sentence cut off all possible connections in the future between them. They would only be friends from now on.
As soon as Nolan said that, tears instantly rolled down Audrey's cheeks. She was in so much pain, yet she would rather put up with it for the sake of Nolan.
Shaun guffawed and stared at Nolan before he said, "We have to see if you have the right to be my girlfriend's best friend.
"Okay. Enough with the jokes. It's time to keep the show going. After all, compared to the rest, I think everyone is more eager to see you removing all your clothes and crawling like a dog on the floor. Ha ha ha!
"Where is Lincoln? Somebody, go look for Lincoln for me."
Nolan watched as Shaun kept calling Lincoln. He sneered and said, "Mr. Baxter, be patient. Lincoln didn't leave. He just didn't want to see you for the time being. Just wait a moment. He'll be here soon even if you don't call him."
Upon hearing that, Shaun sensed that something was amiss. He looked at Nolan and questioned coldly, "What do you mean? What have you done to Lincoln?"
Nolan heard him and laughed before shaking his head. "Mr. Baxter, this joke isn't funny. Lincoln is an adult and the big shot of Bellington's underworld. I'm merely an insignificant person who can be controlled easily by you guys. Where can I bring Lincoln to?
"I told you. Lincoln wants to stay alone for a while, so he doesn't want to show up for now. But he'll surely appear later. Don't worry."
