The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 322

Nick stayed silent for a moment before saying, "Mr. Baxter, Lincoln, everyone should be free to come and go at my hotel. You're putting me in a difficult spot."

When Archie heard that, he narrowed his eyes and smiled at Nick. "Mr. Hance, there's no way we would make the Norwich Group our enemy. However, without Mr. Greene's permission, I'm sure it's best for everyone to stay here for now. After all, we're not done with this yet.

"Mr. Hance, we're already showing you our greatest respect by not starting a huge fight here. Are we offending you by not letting these people leave as well? Aren't you being too much of a busybody now?"

When the crowd heard what Archie said, they went crazy.

"Mr. Baxter, what do you mean by that? Why are you keeping us here? We don't know what's going on between you and Mr. Shaun, but that's your own son! Don't you feel terrible when you see Nolan torturing and humiliating him?"

"That's right, Mr. Baxter! That's your son! If he's humiliated, you'll be disgraced as well. It's fine if you don't want to mess with Nolan, but why do you have to keep us here?"

Archie's face fell, and he scoffed at the crowd. "I did have a son, but he died the moment he snatched my position by force. When he acknowledged our enemy as his godfather and locked me up, he stopped being my son.

"So, please choose your words carefully. Otherwise, you'll be making the Baxters your enemy!"

After he threatened everyone, they stopped talking. However, they finally understood why he was so infuriated. Shaun had gone too far, and they realized why Archie was only watching from the side.
