The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 346

Take the fall? How could that be possible? In Kara's mind, her life was the most important thing above all else.

However, seeing Nolan's arrogant attitude, she couldn't suppress her anger. The evidence was right in front of him, yet he refused to admit it and continued speaking so brazenly. Could no one put him in his place?

"Nolan, stop trying to intimidate him. Leonard, don't be scared. Trust me, you won't lose. The Spirit of Life Serum is your company's product. No one understands it better than you. He's just bluffing. Accept the bet and watch him die!

"This is your best chance to reclaim your dignity. Don't let him scare you."

Indeed, this was Leonard's best, and perhaps the only, opportunity to reclaim his pride. If he won, Nolan's life would then be in his hands. Maybe he would even beg him for mercy.

The thought made Leonard's eyes gleam. He roared, "Let me go! I'll gamble! Nolan, I'll bet my life with you. I bet that even if this cleaner survives, there won't be any changes. I refuse to believe that you can pull off such a feat!"

Nolan sighed softly, slowly lifting his foot from Leonard's face, and said calmly, "You're choosing to walk away from the road to heaven and enter the gates of hell instead. You have such a bright future, but you choose to throw it away. Why do this to yourself?"

Gritting his teeth, Leonard wiped the dust off his face. At this moment, he didn't care about his disheveled state.

Glaring at Nolan, he said fiercely, "Nolan, save your breath on nonsense, and stop trying to scare me. I'll gamble with you. Ten minutes to see the results, right? Fine. Let's see what tricks you can pull in ten minutes!"

Afterward, Leonard turned to Kara and said, "Kara, don't worry. I'll help you vent your anger. I'll make him pay for the humiliation we suffered today by a hundredfold!"

Moved by his words, Kara looked at Leonard with admiration. "Leonard, I believe in you. You can do it! I'm rooting for you."
