The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 411

Nolan was already being merciful for only demanding Gregory's arm.

He was not the type to engage in underhanded tactics. He didn't see the need to orchestrate elaborate gestures such as taking Gregory's sword in the hope of evoking loyalty. Besides, he lacked the interest and patience for such theatrics.

Even if he had, he had no intention of bowing down to him.

The sword fell. There was no scream, but Gregory's face turned as pale as paper.

"Mr. Greene, is this enough?"

Sweat beaded on Gregory's forehead as he looked at Nolan, waiting for his answer.

Nolan nodded and said, "I kept my word. You can go. However, if you don't want all your subordinates to die, have them surrender immediately. When I take over your territory, I don't want any incidents. Otherwise, many people will lose their lives. Understand?"

Hearing this, Gregory nodded. "I'll do as you wish, Mr. Greene."

Gregory glanced at his severed arm lying on the ground. An indescribable rage surged through his mind.

"Mr. Greene, what goes around comes around. One day, I will avenge this!"

Nolan nodded slightly. "I'll be waiting. Come anytime you like."

Supported by Ironhead and Mad Dog, Gregory left the building. That very night, he not only fled Eastland, but the Eastern State as well.

Thus, the legend of Gregory, the strongest person of the Eastern State's underworld, had come to an abrupt end.

This was something no one had anticipated, yet it happened.

Nolan stood by the window, watching Gregory's fading silhouette. A cold smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
