Nolan smiled and nodded. "Since you're here, have a seat."
David and the others immediately shook their heads. "Oh no, we wouldn't dare. We'll stand, thank you."
Their demeanor toward Nolan was very reverent, and yet, these were people who each helmed companies worth hundreds of millions. There was no need for them to behave with such deference under normal circumstances.
Nolan said nothing further, simply letting them be. But at that moment, the people seated at Nolan's table, whether out of intimidation or some other reason, quickly stood up and relocated to another table.
Naturally, there were only two people sitting at Nolan's table, to begin with. After the commotion he caused earlier, everyone was wary of getting involved with him.
Ben and the others stood frozen. Unsure of what to say next, they exchanged uncertain glances with each other.
"Ms. Turner, don't tell us you know nothing about this," Ben finally spoke.
Megan glanced at Nolan, sitting there with an air of importance, before shaking her head.
"Honestly, I don't know what's going on. But I can explain why this situation came about. You all know the Baxter family, right?"
As soon as Ben and Stefan heard this, their eyes immediately lit up. "Of course. The Baxter family is the wealthiest in Bellington and controls significant underground forces. But what does that have to do with Nolan?"
