The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 478

Tears started streaming down Hoover's cheeks. He looked at Harold and said in a trembling voice, "Grandpa, please save me. Please."

Harold sighed. "I can't save you. If we're going to blame anyone, we can only blame ourselves for being too weak. Hoover, go ahead and cut them off. Stop this pitiful display—don't bring shame upon us for no reason. Do it now!"

Hoover raised the dagger high, his eyes locked on his fingers, then onto the blade gleaming coldly in the light. Suddenly, he had a mental breakdown, causing him to collapse to his knees before Nolan.

"Nolan, I was wrong. I truly understand my mistake now. Please, I beg you, spare me. I swear that I'll never go against you again. Please, I beg you."

Harold never expected Hoover to fall to his knees before Nolan at the final moment. The sight drained the color from Harold's face. This was the grandson he had placed so much hope in? Now, it seemed he was nothing but a worthless mess!

Nolan, watching Hoover cry and beg for mercy, merely glanced at his watch and said coolly, "You have 20 seconds left."

Hearing this, Hoover gritted his teeth. He realized that begging Nolan was futile. Without hesitation, he turned his gaze to Wayne, who was still in shock. These were Nolan's parents, after all. Surely they couldn't be as ruthless as this.

"Uncle Wayne, Aunt Melody, please save me! I beg you—don't let him cut off my fingers! Please, help me!" Hoover cried out as he prostrated himself before them, kowtowing repeatedly.

Soon, his forehead was covered in blood from the relentless banging.
