"Mr. Nolan, if you ever come to the Northern State, I will gladly roll out the red carpet for you and do everything in my power to assist you!" said Harold, making a promise to Nolan.
Nolan, however, simply smiled at him and asked, "Are you truly willing to let bygones be bygones?"
Harold replied in a deep voice, "In a lifetime, one doesn't get many opportunities—and even fewer chances to right a wrong. I made a mistake this time, but I believe I won't make the same mistake again next time. Mr. Nolan, you are destined for greatness, and I trust that my judgment of you is not misplaced."
Nolan waved his hand and said, "Clear a path for Mr. Greene Senior. Let them leave!"
At his command, the crowd parted, opening a way for Harold and his people to depart.
Harold cupped his fists toward Nolan in a gesture of respect before turning to Wayne, saying, "You have a fine son. It was my own fault for misjudging him. Wayne, listen carefully to Mr. Nolan—his words won't lead you astray. You might not understand it today, but trust me, one day, you will."
With those words, Harold stepped down from the stage and, surrounded by his bodyguards, left the epicenter of this storm.
The moment Harold was gone, Ben, Stefan, and the others could no longer hold back. They dropped to their knees to beg for mercy.
Their strongest backer, Harold, had fled in defeat. Hoover, the once proud heir, had lost an arm. Compared to them, they were nothing.
"Mr. Nolan, we were wrong! Please give us one more chance!"
"Yes, Mr. Nolan, we beg you—just one chance!"
"Mr. Greene, Mr. Greene, please speak on our behalf! Please ask Mr. Nolan to spare us!"
