The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 550

"Hahaha, so you're just a coward who only knows how to pick on the weak, huh? Hahaha," Preston said to Nolan.

The insults were harsh, to say the least.

Fang stepped forward without hesitation and delivered two hard slaps to Preston's face, leaving him bleeding from his mouth and nose.

Nolan, however, shook his head and said calmly, "Let me handle this. I'm in a bad mood anyway—perfect timing to let off some steam."

Fang quickly stepped aside as Nolan sat down in front of Preston, his expression indifferent.

"Lense might really be gone, and I'm just looking for some form of comfort. You can say I'm afraid of the Norberg family or that I'm all bark and no bite—it doesn't matter to me. But I can see you want to die.

"Don't worry, I'll grant you that… Just not yet. Right now, every time I think of the pain and torment Lense endured, it tears me apart. So, I'm sorry, but you'll have to experience a taste of what Lense went through."

After that, Nolan reached for a pair of needle-nose pliers and gently placed them on Preston's fingernails. His expression was calm as he looked around at everyone in the room.

"A couple of days ago, I was on a video call with Lense, and I watched with my own eyes as they took him away. Even through the screen, I saw a lot… too much. I told them they could have Myth Group, as long as they didn't harm Lense. I told them that if they dared to hurt Lense, I would find them and kill every last one of them.

"But they didn't listen. Not only did they ignore me, but they also tortured Lense right in front of me. They made him suffer by ripping all ten of his fingernails to the point where death would have been merciful. I was heartbroken, devastated, and enraged. At that moment, all I wanted was to kill them all."
