Geoffrey's questions went unanswered. No one had any idea where people had come from.
"Mr. Geoffrey, these people seem like they're from the Eastland's underworld. But at the same time, they're not from just there. Especially those tailing us—the ones even our bodyguards couldn't handle. Their strength is remarkable.
And yet, they're only following us without making a move. I suspect they're trying to use this as a way to demonstrate their strength and intimidate us. Maybe they don't actually dare to do anything to us but just want us to know they're not to be messed with."
Geoffrey nodded and said, "That's possible. But using this kind of tactic to prove their strength is, in itself, a foolish move. If they don't dare to directly confront us yet still want to flex their muscles—hmph, it's nothing more than a pathetic display.
"Even so, we can't afford to be careless. The fact that they can mobilize such an elite force clearly indicates they're no small players. The most pressing matter right now is to figure out what's really going on."
The others nodded in agreement.
The atmosphere was somewhat tense, but overall still relatively calm. After all, from their perspective, these people were merely watching them, not taking any direct action. To the Norbergs, this suggested that their adversaries didn't truly dare to challenge them head-on.
And if that was the case, there wasn't much to worry about.
"Mr. Geoffrey, even so, we should still take measures to respond, or even counterattack. Otherwise, we risk giving the people behind this the impression that we are weak and easy to bully. Letting them follow and surround us as they please—if word of this spreads, it would make us the laughingstock of others!
