Knowing she couldn't hide it any longer, Harper said through gritted teeth, "Grandpa, I've already told you that I have no relationship with Pierce. As for why he held back against me, I don't know. But I've already made my stance clear—I am willing to fight to the death for the family."
It was clear she had no intention of revealing anything about Selene and Pierce. But at this moment, Vernon was in no mood to let her be.
"Harper, now is not the time to let personal feelings get in the way. The lives of hundreds in the family depend on you. You mustn't hide anything. This might be the only way to save us."
As Vernon's words fell, the other members of the Norberg family began pleading with Harper one after another. It was as if, if she refused to tell them, she would become the greatest pariah of the family.
This scene did not go unnoticed by Nolan and the others.
Scarlet let out a cold sneer and said sarcastically, "Mr. Greene, Mr. Pierce, the Norbergs have now resorted to pressuring a little girl. How impressive of them."
Though Harper was indeed a Tiger Ranking powerhouse with formidable strength, she was still just a young woman. Of course, being in her early 20s hardly made her a little girl, but in the world of adults—especially among the strong—20-something was still far too young.
Pierce's expression darkened. His feelings toward Harper were complicated. At the very least, he had always regarded her as a junior.
Nolan, however, let out a cold smirk. "Is there anything they wouldn't do? Let's go. It's about time we settled this."
With that, he strode forward, leading his men straight ahead.
Meanwhile, Vernon and the others were still pressuring Harper. But the moment they saw Nolan and his group begin to move, their expressions turned utterly grim.
