The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 625

Nolan slowly turned around, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.

Did Megan really think she could still deceive him?

Hadn't she fooled him enough over the years?

"Megan, how exactly did you save me? How is it that without you, I would have died? Go on, tell me. If you're right and if your story holds up, I don't mind giving you another chance. I am a man who repays kindness. If you truly saved my life, I'll give you everything you want."

At this moment, Megan didn't notice the icy coldness in Nolan's eyes. All she heard was that he might give her another chance, so without hesitation, she began to speak.

"Don't you remember the car accident you were in a few years ago? You were lying in a pool of blood, unconscious. The car was on fire, about to explode. It was me who risked my life to pull you out. Nolan, doesn't that count as saving your life? Have you really forgotten all that?"

Nolan's expression grew even colder, his gaze piercing and terrifying as he looked at Megan.

"So, besides this one time, was there anything else?"

Anything else?

Megan was stunned. There was nothing else—just this one incident. And honestly speaking, it wasn't even her who saved Nolan that one time.

"N-No, there's nothing else. But isn't this one time enough?"

Nolan laughed bitterly, then walked up to Megan and said icily, "It's enough. Of course, it's enough. I only have one life, so saving it once is more than enough. But was it really you who saved me? Megan, I'll ask you one more time. Was it really you who saved me back then?"
