The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 633

Everett had initially thought that Shelby's calm demeanor meant he had truly changed and wasn't planning to make a big deal out of the situation.

However, the moment he felt Shelby's killing intent, Everett realized that the fire of rage had been burning fiercely inside his grandfather all along.

Everett immediately stood up and looked at Shelby. "Grandpa, Pierce is simply too cocky for his own good. He knew that the Duo of Doom were your men, yet he still killed them. This is a blatant disregard for your authority!

"By now, everyone probably knows what happened in the Eastern State, so there's no way to keep it hidden. Grandpa, for the sake of your reputation and our family's prestige, we must make Pierce pay! Even if he doesn't die, he must come before you and bow his head in apology!"

Even until the end, Everett still didn't dare to suggest killing Pierce outright. After all, Pierce's strength was undeniable, and it would be extremely difficult for the Bentons to kill him. This was even if Shelby personally joined in the fray.

"It's understandable for Pierce to be cocky," Shelby said coldly. "After all, ending in a draw against a fight with Forrest has indeed earned him the right to challenge me. But compared to him, I'm more curious about Nolan. I mean, where exactly did he come from? If anything, he might be the real threat here."

While Pierce's background was clear, Nolan's origins were shrouded in mystery. It was as if he had appeared out of thin air, so Shelby had no choice but to treat him with caution.

"Grandpa, Nolan isn't worth mentioning. Once we deal with Pierce, he will be nothing more than a bug we can easily crush," Everett said in a low voice.

Hearing this, Shelby glared at Everett and snapped, "You fool! Even though you've made rapid progress over the years, you've also become increasingly arrogant. You call Nolan a bug? He's not worth mentioning? If he's not worth mentioning, then tell me, where did the Spirit of Life Serum come from?
