The Ruthless Lycan King Fell For His Slave Mate novel Chapter 104

“I want to take you somewhere today,” Julian told Lyra one morning a week after the wedding ceremony. The festivities had finally died down and most of the guests had gone back to their packs.

“Where?” Lyra asked, smiling at him. They were lying in bed, facing each other.

“You’ll know when we get there,” he told her.

Lyra narrowed her eyes slightly in suspicion but said, “Okay.”

Julian chuckled. “No arguing?”

“I trust you,” she replied.

He laughed and pressed his lips to her forehead. “I promise you’ll like it.”

Later after they had breakfast and got ready, Julian led Lyra to an all-terrain vehicle. They rode through the royal forest, going east to farther than Lyra had been before. Eventually, they arrived at a secluded timber cottage hidden deep in the jungle.

“I had no idea there were any houses out here,” Lyra said as she climbed down from the vehicle. It looked like the perfect getaway spot.

“It’s only used by members of the royal family,” Julian told her, getting down too and going to stand beside her. “Like a retreat spot. It’s the ideal place to get away from the palace while still being nearby in case anything arises.”

Taking her hand, he led the way to the front door. He retrieved a key from his trouser pocket and unlocked the door. Inside, the cottage was warm and homely, nothing like the opulent palace.

After taking her through a tour of the cottage, Julian led Lyra towards the back porch. There was a huge lawn extending towards the treeline, dotted with bushes of flowers and fruit trees.

“Wow,” Lyra exclaimed, walking down the porch and onto the lawn. She walked towards one of the flower bushes and leaned down to sniff the flowers. “How could you keep such a nice place a secret from me?”

“I’ve brought you here now, haven’t I?” he asked, walking to her. He followed her and watched in amusement as she stopped to sniff every flower along the way.

When they got to a fully-bloomed apple tree, he took her hand and drew her to him, then kissed her. Lyra wrapped her hands around his neck and leaned into him, deepening the kiss. Suddenly, the click of a camera shutter sounded through the serene atmosphere.

Lyra pulled back and looked towards the direction the sound had come from. About twenty feet away stood a female with a camera raised to her face.

“Who is that?” Lyra asked Julian, stunned at the sudden appearance. An unauthorised reporter would not have made it so far into the royal forest without getting caught, right?

“That was a great shot,” the female said, walking towards them. “Good morning, Your Majesties. I’m Yna, and I’ll be your photographer for today.”

“Photographer?” Lyra asked, confused.

“We are having a photoshoot today,” Julian told her.

“A photoshoot?” she echoed.

“Like you said, this place is breathtaking,” he said. “It would be a shame to not capture this moment.”

“My team is ready,” Yna said. “We can start as soon as you want.”

“We are good to go,” Julian told her.

“Alright,” she said. “Before we do your hair and makeup and start outfit changes, can I take a few more of you two in this garden? You can continue with your stroll and my assistant will help me with the lighting.”

“Sounds good,” Julian said, taking Lyra’s hand.

“Whose idea was this?” Lyra asked Julian as they continued their walk while the photographer called for her assistant.

“Mine,” he said, looking proud.

“Really?” she asked in disbelief.

“Don’t you like it?” he asked.

“No, I love it,” she said. “It’s just very unlike you. You are the kind to arrange impromptu combat training camps, not photoshoots.”
