Aiden Finnegan the Alchemist in Delcord novel Chapter 13

"Please calm down, Mr. Thatcher!" Angelina said, hurriedly stepping forward. "Let's talk things over calmly." Then, she turned her head to Linda and said, "This is the young master of the Thatcher Family, Zachary Thatcher!"

A shocked Linda started trembling because it didn't occur to her that he could be the young master of the Thatcher Family, and her face turned stark white as she pointed a finger at Aiden, blurting, "He's the one who brought it back. It's none of my business!"

"Didn't you just claim earlier that it's yours, and you can throw it whenever you want?" Zachary sneered.

"Mr. Thatcher, may I ask why you need the porcelain vase?" Aiden interjected.

"That vase belongs to my grandfather, and although it's an imitation, it was a gift from his late comrade in war. Now, he only has three months to live and would like to look at it once more to remind him of the past he spent with his comrade. However, the cleaner at home didn't know the value of it and sold it, thinking that it was a piece of rubbish! Since my grandfather is on his deathbed, I tracked the vase to Antiquities City and saw from the surveillance footage that your husband was the one who bought it. That's how I found your home, but who knew that that harpy already threw it away!"

When he finished his sentence, he looked devastated and guilty; if he had been just a little more careful, the cleaner wouldn't have sold the vase, and his grandfather wouldn't be leaving this world with regrets.

Aiden nodded and said, "I understand." Then, he turned to Linda and demanded, "Where did you throw that vase?"

"The trash container outside!" Linda whimpered, pointing to the trash container outside.

Zachary hastily spun around toward the trash container outside, but he was stunned when he poked his head in to take a look inside.

The trash container was cleared, and it was standing empty!

"The trash from the neighborhood is collected every day, and it seems like it has been cleared already," Aiden said softly from behind him.

Tears welled up in Zachary's eyes, and he twirled around to glare at Linda with daggers in his eyes, threatening, "You're the reason my grandfather is going to die with regrets. I want you to pay for it with your life!"

"Please, no! I don't wish to die yet!" His threat terrified Linda to the point that she slumped to the floor. Then, she grabbed Angelina's leg and wailed at the top of her lungs, "Angelina, save me! I don't want to die! I didn't know that that porcelain vase is so important!"

Angelina looked utterly out of wits as she turned to Zachary, who was right outside the door. The Thatcher Family was very influential in Keyland, and it would be a piece of cake for them to crush the Grays, not to mention her mother.

While she was panicking, Aiden said, "Mr. Thatcher, you just mentioned that your grandfather still has three months to live. Why don't I take a look? Maybe there's something I can do!"

"You? Are you a doctor?" Zachary slowly drawled out, eyeing him suspiciously.

Aiden nodded and answered with a smile, "I may be able to help."

"It's useless. The doctors from abroad already said that there's no cure for Grandpa anymore!" Zachary revealed, devastated and wholly dispirited.

"What the other doctors said might not be absolute. Since there are no other ways, why don't you let me give it a try?" Aiden said composedly.

Zachary was stunned by his bold remark as he thought, He's right. There's no other solution now, anyway, but if I give it a try, Grandpa might have a chance!

"Stop messing around, Aiden!" Angelina quickly cut them off when she heard that he was going to treat the old master of the Thatcher Family. He might be able to fool Zachary, but she knew what he was capable of, which was absolutely nothing.

There was no way that he knew anything about medicine. This was simply nonsense!

Yet, he gave her an assuring smile and turned to Zachary. "Mr. Thatcher, let's go."

Angelina wanted to stop him again but was held back by Linda, who said in a nervous yet hushed voice, "Angelina, just let that useless bum go. Or else, the Thatchers won't let me off!"

A short moment later, an old man with silver hair came down with the help of an attractive middle-aged woman.

Aiden watched the old man, who still exuded a deadly aura despite his old age. He silently thought, He's a military man, after all, and that aura cannot be diminished even if he's on his deathbed.

Zachary's grandfather, Jeffrey Thatcher, slowly ambled over and greeted them with a smile. "I heard that Zachary has brought home a young, genius doctor. Thank you for making the trip here."

"Please save my father, doctor!" With a thud, the attractive woman beside him dropped to her knees, pleading with Aiden. "Whenever I see my father in such agony, as his daughter, I feel terrible. It's gotten so terrible that I wished I could share his burden. Please cure my father. The price will never be an issue."

Aiden was taken aback by her abrupt actions and hurriedly dodged to the side and reached out to help her up. "Please don't do this. I should do this for the sake of a soldier that has protected the country."

"You really are a miracle doctor for diagnosing my ailments with just one look. Can I be cured, then?" Jeffrey asked nervously.

"First, let me check your vitals," Aiden said, beckoning Jeffrey to take a seat next to him. Then, he placed his right hand on Jeffrey's wrist, released it after a minute, and looked up at him.

Everyone else in the Thatcher Manor was also staring at Aiden expectantly.

"You can be cured."
