Everyone fell silent right then, astonished by what they heard over the phone.
Aiden had indeed spent ten grand to buy the bracelet. What was more, the bracelet was authentic.
As Aiden looked at their expressions, he sneered.
Initially, these so-called relatives wanted to belittle Aiden to make themselves look superior and mock him, but at this moment, they were no longer arrogant and smug; they could only act meekly.
The reunion ended on an unpleasant note as everyone left the place.
Once everyone was gone, Linda, who had been suppressing her fury for quite a while, turned hysterical. Just as Aiden was about to go upstairs, she roared, "Why don't you go to hell, you son of a b*tch! Get this useless man out of our home! Now!"
By exposing the ginseng to be fake, Aiden humiliated Titan and put Linda in a tight spot.
Even a good-for-nothing could tell that the ginseng was fake. Since she and Harvey were unable to do so, wouldn't it mean that they were worse than Aiden?
It wasn't like Linda could make it clear that she was on Titan's side.
Nonetheless, what truly infuriated Linda was that Aiden had spent ten grand on a gift without telling her. He must have obtained some benefits from the Thatcher Family.
Furthermore, the bracelet shattered after she stamped on it, so it was worthless now. She could've bought several luxury bags with the same amount of money.
Nonetheless, Aiden said nothing about the money and bought the bracelet.
As such, embarrassment wasn't the only reason Linda was blowing her top. She also felt that Aiden was challenging her as the decision maker in this family.
"I told you to get lost! Got it?" Linda roared at Aiden. "I don't want to see an ungrateful brat like you anymore. Get out of here!"
Harvey appeared helpless. He wanted to say something, but he decided to remain silent in the end.
Apart from the fact that Aiden's cultivation base had been restored, he also learned to practice medicine. As such, he had become confident and calm.
Unlike his timid self in the past, Aiden refuted impassively, "I'm not in the wrong. I wasn't the one who gave the fake ginseng to Mr. Gray, so you're supposed to be chiding Titan for doing so instead. Also, didn't you say I bought the bracelet from a street vendor?"
While faced with Linda's glare, Aiden continued to say frankly, "Regardless of how discomfited you feel, you shouldn't blame me."
"Do you think I was so dumb that I couldn't tell the ginseng was fake? I already realized it at first glance!" Linda growled. "However, I couldn't possibly humiliate Titan in that situation."
"You couldn't humiliate Titan, but you had no qualms doing that to me. You hurled the bracelet to the ground and stamped on it." There was a hint of mockery on Aiden's face. "Moreover, you accused me of buying it from a street vendor. It's unfair to me."
Angelina frowned. Once again, she felt that Aiden was different from his past self.
"So, what if I humiliated you? You're just a good-for-nothing who leeches off of us!" Linda snapped. "Are you even comparable to Titan? You know nothing but house chores. What right do you have to compare yourself to Titan, a manager at a multinational corporation? Do you know how many gifts Titan gives us every year?"
Then, she pointed at Aiden's face and yelled, "On the other hand, you stay in our house and make no money. You should feel honored that I'm even willing to humiliate you! Do you get it?"
In Linda's eyes, Aiden was supposed to bear all the oppression and injustice. As long as he resisted, he would be considered rebellious and ungrateful.
Aiden only smiled in response and fell silent. Then, he turned to look at Angelina, hoping that she would stand up for him.
He wasn't worried about falling out with Linda, but he just hoped that he wasn't on his own at this moment.
He wanted to know if his wife would support him and that the time spent treating her well over the past three years was worth it.
However, Angelina only gave him a dispassionate look and said impatiently, "Alright, stop arguing. It's getting late now. Apologize to my mom, Aiden. Regardless, my mom is your senior. As such, you're in the wrong for making her mad."
