Aiden Finnegan's Medical Odyssey novel Chapter 3

"What the hell are you talking about? My painting? A fake?" Kevin exclaimed angrily and glared at Aiden.

Angelina didn't recognize Aiden at that moment. In her mind, Aiden had always been the one getting bullied, and he had always tolerated his tormentors in silence. So, what gave him the courage to argue against Kevin today?

"I said that your painting is fake. It's dye instead of paint." Aiden sneered. "Your painting looks so poorly done. Even the smell of coconut hasn't been removed. Only idiots like you will buy such paintings!"

Kevin was so angry he let out a short bark of laughter and retorted with a sneer, "You're just a good-for-nothing son-in-law. Are you a painter? How do you know my painting is a fake?"

"Aiden, don't spout nonsense if you don't know anything! Don't slander Kevin!" Linda called out to him from the side.

"Yeah, you didn't even see it before you accused it of being fake!"

"Why are you pretending to be an art connoisseur? I've never seen you act like this before!"

"It would make more sense if he could tell the difference between salt and sugar. After all, he only cooks at home, hahaha!"

There was another round of raucous laughter in the hotel that was particularly harsh to the ears.

"It's a smoking method. A counterfeiter would place the art piece in a closed room, then light coconut shells or incense to smoke it! After a few days, the paper will turn brown. Smell it for yourself. Can't you scent the smell of coconuts wafting in the air?" Aiden said with a mirthless smile playing on his lips.

The Finnegans had been in the art industry for a long time. They owned several calligraphy and paintings from famous artists. His grandfather had even researched calligraphy and various paintings, so naturally, he knew a lot more about calligraphy and painting than these people.

Kevin placed his nose against the painting and smelled it. His facial expression immediately changed, and everyone guessed that Aiden was really telling the truth!

No one expected this good-for-nothing son-in-law from the Gray Family to really know his paintings!

At this moment, even Linda looked at Aiden in surprise!

"The painting is real!" A stern voice loudly claimed from behind Kevin. Everyone turned to face the man and realized that it was Mason Gray, Kevin's father. It was Angelina's uncle, the head of the Gray Family. While he announced it aloud, he even looked at Aiden dismissively.

"But…"

"Shut up!"

Before Aiden could finish talking, Mason said coldly, "You're just a good-for-nothing son-in-law. Who do you think you are to dare question Kevin's judgments?"

"Uncle!" Angelina cried out with a frown.

"Shut up!" Mason scolded once more.

Anyone with an eye could see that the head of the family was just protecting Kevin, so no one dared to speak.

Aiden glanced at Mason but didn't respond. Even if some things were revealed as facts, there was still Kevin's status at play.

Besides, now wasn't the time to expose his true identity…

This minor issue was nothing to Aiden. He had tolerated such injustice for three years. So, a little more wouldn't make any difference!

In the banquet, the Grays arranged a corner for gifts, and Aiden's gift was placed last.

Like the family feast each year, Angelina's family left shortly after under everyone's mocking gazes.

Aiden walked outside alone after the hotel gate.

Angelina looked at his back and called out to him, "Get in the car!"

When Aiden heard her, he turned around, not expecting that. Linda had a disgusted look on her face, but she didn't object.

On the way home, the three people in the car didn't say a single word. Aiden sat in the back and looked out the window quietly.

Suddenly, the car pulled to a halt, and Aiden instinctively raised his head. He looked around and noticed that they were in a traffic congestion.

''Go down and have a look! Check how far it goes," Linda ordered.

He immediately got out of the car and did as he was told. When he got closer, he found a group of people gathered around something. After he squeezed past the crowd, he realized the traffic congestion was due to a car accident.

At that moment, he saw a woman squatting on the ground helping a man covered in blood. The woman was yelling helplessly, "Call an ambulance! Someone, call an ambulance!"

Aiden laid the man down and thought to himself, Consider yourself lucky that you bumped into me!

"That's all?" The woman looked at Aiden in disbelief. Then, she thought to herself, This guy can't be a charlatan, can he?
