After speaking with Joshua, Daniel told him to take Emma home.
Daniel set her treatment for three days later because he needed time to prepare the pill—the only thing that could truly cure her.
The Walsh family's disruption had thrown the company into chaos, and no one was showing up for work. Joshua alone couldn't make much difference, so Daniel told him to stick to the plan.
After leaving the company, Daniel couldn't help but think of Bridget.
Bridget had been a long-time employee of the Ashcroft Group. Despite being a new recruit at the time, she quickly demonstrated exceptional business abilities.
Daniel had only heard her name in passing from his father. He hadn't expected her to still be with the company.
Finding Bridget's address wasn't difficult, and soon, he arrived at her apartment building.
The neighborhood was run-down, which didn't quite match her professional status. But he didn't dwell on it. He walked toward her apartment door and knocked gently.
"Who's there?"
After a long pause, a cautious voice came from inside.
"Ms. Field, I'm Daniel Ashcroft," he replied with a smile.
"Daniel? Y-You're Mr. Ashcroft?" Bridget sounded surprised, but then a sharp cry of pain followed. "I… I can't see you. Please leave."
He raised an eyebrow.
Something didn't feel right. That cry of pain was unusual. Could the Walsh family have sent someone to abduct her? It wasn't out of the question.
Without hesitation, Daniel raised his foot and kicked the security door. The door slammed open.
