Bridget was an action-oriented person. After tidying up her room, she headed straight to work.
Ashcroft Group had recently taken over the Obsidian Group's contract with Geller Cosmetics, and she was swamped. She needed to get the company's projects up and rolling immediately.
Daniel glanced at her room and shook his head.
Bridget held a senior position at the company and earned a decent salary every month. Yet, she still lived in that rundown neighborhood. With someone like Declan leeching off her, it wasn't hard to guess where all her money had gone.
Dealing with a scumbag like him wasn't hard. Their main trait was that they'd push around the weak but back down when they faced someone tougher.
If Daniel had taken action and beat him up, it wouldn't have had much impact. But Daniel had already found the right person for the job.
"Alden, I need you to take care of something," Daniel said over the phone.
Alden was the perfect person to deal with someone like Declan.
As soon as Daniel explained the situation, Alden thumped his chest and said, "Don't worry, Mr. Ashcroft. I know exactly what to do."
"Good. Get it done quickly." Daniel ended the call and headed to the Taylor Apothecary.
To treat Emma, he needed to handle each herb himself. Otherwise, it could affect the success of the pill's refinement process.
…
Though Daniel had kicked Declan earlier, he didn't seem to care. Despite the lingering ache in his abdomen, he still headed to the game café with the money.
He was familiar with the place as he bypassed the second floor and went straight to the private room.
"Hey, Declan! Back so soon? Didn't think you'd get the cash that fast," someone teased as he walked in.
The room was hazy with cigarette smoke.
