Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 236

Jake turned around and furrowed his brows. "Daniel? Looks like my luck is pretty good today—two wins in a row."

As he spoke, his gaze fell on Daniel's hand, which was already severely poisoned.

Camille was still holding onto a sliver of clarity, and she instinctively looked at Daniel. If she had to choose, she would rather have him detoxify her than let Jake have his way.

"Daniel, kill him!"

Camille bit her bottom lip, and her expression twisted in pain.

Jake burst into laughter, a hint of madness flickering in his eyes. His gaze toward Camille grew even colder.

At that moment, Jake already saw Camille as his possession. Yet now, she was urging Daniel to kill him. This was a betrayal in itself.

Jake scoffed. "Kill me? As if he's capable! Fine, let him bear witness today—witness how I make you mine."

A twisted grin spread across his face as he raised the magic banner toward Daniel and bellowed, "Kneel!"

Dark energy erupted from the banner once again. The toxin in Daniel's palm seemed to come alive, surging wildly and attempting to seep deeper into his body.

Yet, Daniel had expected this. "Nice trick, but too bad it won't work on me."

"What?"

Jake's face twisted in disbelief as he suddenly lost all sense of the poison within Daniel.

"How dare you flaunt such a cheap trick before me?" Daniel asked.

He raised his hand and struck at the approaching dark energy. The energy instantly shattered, and a sharp tearing sound came from Jake's magic banner.
