Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 241

The Verdant Estate covered a vast area, but unfortunately, it was now overrun with weeds. It seemed the person who had originally purchased the estate hadn't cared much for it, and the lack of upkeep over the years had led to its current state.

Daniel couldn't help but frown.

"Mr. Ashcroft?" A voice called out from behind.

Daniel turned to see a stocky, balding, middle-aged man approaching. The man looked shrewd, especially with his beady eyes that occasionally narrowed as he scrutinized Daniel, his gaze carrying an indescribable meaning.

"My name's Randall Goldman." Randall smiled and extended his hand.

"Mr. Goldman!" Daniel shook his head. "I trust that Mr. Fuentes has explained the situation to you. Let's proceed with the price you mentioned and sign the contract."

Randall rubbed his hands together. "Mr. Ashcroft, I'm afraid there's been a slight complication."

"Oh?" Daniel frowned, his gaze turning cold as he stared at him.

Randall felt a chill run down his spine and quickly explained, "Mr. Ashcroft, it's not that I'm trying to raise the price, but I can't afford to offend the other party."

As he spoke, he clasped his hands together in a pleading gesture.

"Then let's see who's got what it takes!" Daniel said, ignoring Randall's excuses. Since this place was his, there was no way he'd let outsiders take it.

Randall didn't dare to delay and quickly arranged for the other party to arrive. When they showed up, Daniel's frown deepened for a moment before smoothing out.

"Daniel? What are you doing here?" Jennifer asked, clearly surprised.

"What do you think?" Daniel shot her a cold glance.
