Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 245

William's breakthrough didn't cause any external upheaval, as the Keaton family had impeccable secret measures in place. Thus, it was natural for Daniel to know nothing about it. And even if he had, he wouldn't have been overly concerned.

At the moment, he was listening to Charlene ranting.

Due to Jennifer's collaboration with Hibari Corporation, the sales of their cosmetics company had recently taken a hit.

"Hibari is a major brand with years of accumulated reputation, after all. We still have a long way to go to catch up," Charlene said, her tone tinged with frustration.

Compared to Hibari Corporation, Charlene's cosmetics company was practically insignificant. Even with a product as effective as the youth cream, they were still being overshadowed. There was no helping it—consumer loyalty to established brands wasn't something that could be easily broken.

"Then let's use some unconventional methods," Daniel suggested with a smile.

Charlene shot him a glance. "No! Even though the current situation isn't favorable for us, it's a valuable learning experience for the company. If we can pull through this, our brand will truly make a name for itself!"

"That's the spirit! I believe you can do it!" Daniel gave her a thumbs-up.

Charlene couldn't help but smile at his praise.

"Thank you for the encouragement, Mr. Ashcroft. Don't worry. If I still lose with a strong product like the youth cream, I might as well just bash my head against a brick wall," Charlene said, lifting her chin proudly.

"No, don't do that!" Daniel shook his head, then pulled her into his arms. "I won't allow you to be so foolish."

"Pfft! I'm not foolish at all!" Charlene turned slightly red in the face.

Though she and Daniel had been intimate more than once, his straightforward affection still made her blush.

Just as Daniel was about to engage in some sexy time with Charlene for the 300th time, his phone rang at the most inopportune moment.

"Ms. Sinclair, is everything okay?" Daniel asked curiously, wondering why Regina was calling him so late at night.
