Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 267

At Ashcroft Group, Daniel perused the financial report delivered by Laila and wore a satisfied smile. "Not bad. The company is seeing some profits. This way, we can focus more on our research."

Conor, however, appeared concerned. "Mr. Ashcroft, if we resume the research, will it—"

"Don't worry, Mr. Fuentes." Daniel smiled, saying, "I'll take care of the other matters."

"In that case, I'll tell the lab to conduct the next phase of research!" Conor affirmed and nodded immediately.

This was one of his regrets. Now that there was an opportunity to resume the research, he was eager, to say the least. However, with this, Daniel was bound to fall into a crisis.

"Mr. Ashcroft, you should also be cautious," Conor said with concern as he looked at Daniel, then shifted his tone. "There's another thing you should pay attention to as well."

"What is it?" Daniel asked, looking at him.

"Isn't it time for you to have a kid? That's what your parents looked forward to the most back then.

"Although you and Jennifer aren't on the best of terms now, I'm sure you can easily find another partner with your great skills." Conor chuckled.

Daniel's temples began throbbing. He had tried so hard to get him to stop mentioning this, yet he brought it up again. Thankfully, he didn't persuade Daniel to mend things with Jennifer.

"I'm still young. It's not something pressing on my list," Daniel replied with a dry chuckle.

Conor turned solemn. "At present, Ashcroft Group is not without external threats. It's better to make some preparations in advance. As for the issue with the children, I hope you can consider it sooner rather than later!"

Daniel knew exactly what Conor was concerned about, and with a wry smile, he shook his head and replied, "Mr. Fuentes, you know that the higher the cultivation of a martial artist, the harder it is to have children.
