Although Daniel spoke casually, everyone else wasn't foolish.
They saw how solemnly Oscar put the box away, which meant the item inside was extraordinary.
"Daniel, what exactly did you give him? Was it expensive?" Charlene tugged at Daniel's arm.
Even though the gift was for her grandfather, Charlene was still worried that Daniel might have spent too much.
"It's just a tool to assist with cultivation, nothing valuable," Daniel replied with a smile.
By now, a small crowd had gathered around him, all straining their ears to listen.
But when they heard Daniel's words, all of them were stunned.
A tool for cultivation? Nothing valuable?
They couldn't wrap their heads around how these two phrases could go together, especially when it came to something that could assist with cultivation. Such an item would be priceless anywhere.
Yet, Daniel spoke about it so casually.
Charlene's eyes widened in surprise, her face full of astonishment. "A tool for cultivation? You have one?"
"Yeah. But it's nothing valuable. Why are you so worked up?" Daniel replied, smiling helplessly as he looked at Charlene.
Charlene looked incredibly adorable at that moment, and if the setting weren't inappropriate, Daniel might not have been able to resist teasing her further.
Charlene wasn't clueless, though. She knew that since Daniel's recovery, his combat strength had been incredible. It was evident he was a martial artist.
Daniel should've kept such a rare and valuable item for himself; it was not something to be given away.
"Y-You're so hopeless! How could you just give away a tool for cultivation?" Charlene muttered under her breath, her hand instinctively reaching for Daniel's side and giving it a playful twist.
Anyone who had been in a relationship knew that move.
