Daniel couldn't help but glance at Hayden. The man certainly knew how to read the room.
"We don't need to discuss anything further. As long as the job gets done, that's enough," Daniel said, lifting his foot and then yanking Frederick up by the arm. "This is your one and only warning. Next time we meet, it won't be resolved as simply as this!"
"You—!" Frederick's eyes bulged with fury and resentment, his gaze filled with venom.
Daniel paid him no mind, leading Charlene away.
Hayden personally escorted them to the door, assuring Charlene that she wouldn't need to come in person again—anything she needed could be handled directly through him from now on.
"Daniel, I really owe you one!" Charlene said, still shaken.
If Daniel hadn't been there, it would've been nearly impossible for Charlene to leave the situation unharmed.
Daniel waved it off. "Frederick was after me, not you. You got caught in the crossfire. Are you heading back to the company, or going to the venue?"
"I'll head to the venue. The company's team is already set up. It's at Qranross University," Charlene replied after a moment's thought.
"Got it!" Daniel turned the car around and headed straight for Qranross University.
The campus was bustling with activity. Charlene had invested a great deal of effort into promoting the youth cream. While the cosmetic benefits were obvious, the most immediate result was acne elimination. That was a common issue for university students, especially during puberty.
Other improvements took time, but the effects on acne were nearly instantaneous!
This effect was why Charlene had chosen the university auditorium as the venue. She had even enlisted a few university students as models to showcase the product's effects.
"Ms. Geller, everything's ready!" Scarlet hurried over, panting slightly.
