Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 96

Bobby suddenly changed his tone. "I must apologize; someone else has already reserved this room. Ms. Geller, if you would just..."

At his words, the previously lively room fell into an immediate silence.

Charlene furrowed her brows. "Mr. Orr, what did you say?"

"I'm truly sorry, Ms. Geller. This was my mistake, and I take full responsibility! Let me drink three glasses to make amends. Please don't hold it against me!" he said, picking up a glass of wine from the waiter's tray and drinking it himself.

He hadn't come to offer a toast but prepared the drinks himself.

Charlene's expression turned cold as she turned her body, her gaze turning sharp. "Mr. Orr, this is not how things should be done! Since you've already given me the room and I have paid, I will finish my meal here!"

She wasn't foolish. Seeing Bobby's actions, she quickly deduced that someone must be pulling strings behind the scenes.

To make matters worse, he chose the most inopportune time to create trouble. Anyone in her position would be angry!

Bobby's expression changed slightly upon hearing this. "Ms. Geller, it truly was my mistake. How about this? I'll compensate you for double the price. How does that sound?"

She placed her handbag on the table. "Mr. Orr, are you saying I can't afford the meal? I'm not backing down today!"

Bobby furrowed his brows at her attitude, and his previous obsequious smile vanished.

"Ms. Geller, why make things harder than necessary?" He sneered.

"You're bullying us, and now you're blaming us?" Scarlet, enraged, stood up.

Without warning, he slapped her across the face.

She was caught off guard by the strike.

"What are you doing!" Charlene slammed the table and stood up.
