Aiden rolled his eyes again. She really is dumb. You call her dumb and she actually proves it. What was he even doing wasting his breath on her? Aiden ignored Han Summer and, too bored to do anything else, moved off to the side to play with the sandbox. As he scooped and poured, he couldn’t help but feel a little gloomy. “Summer’s always been very shy. I had no choice but to transfer her to this school. After all, the academic standards and teacher quality here are excellent. “I wouldn’t worry too much. Kids aren’t as complicated as adults. Summer’s adorable–she’ll be just fine. And the staff here are all so professional. Even if something does come up, I’m sure they’ll handle it right away. Isn’t that right?”

She deliberately gave the staffer an opening, and the woman immediately responded with a bright smile.

“Oh gosh, that’s not what I meant! It’s just that the staff at Summer’s previous school weren’t very responsible. I didn’t mean you, I swear. Please don’t take it the wrong way. I absolutely trust your school—I’m just a bit of a worrywart when it comes to Summer.”
