“Aren’t you swamped lately? If I don’t keep an eye on him, that kid’s gonna turn into an idiot. How’s the project going? When are you planning to launch it? Need me to reach out and help build some hype?”
Louis stood up and walked to the window, looking down at the masses from his high–rise vantage point. “No need. For the first test, I’m planning to launch through a game. Once it goes live, buzz won’t be a problem.”
“As long as you’ve got a handle on it. Just say the word if you need anything.”
“You’re the one drowning in work lately. You should focus on your end first. I also heard someone in the Collins family is ready to go scorched–earth. You know how it is–people with nothing to lose don’t fear the consequences. Better stay sharp.” Louis had never liked going completely ruthless unless absolutely necessary. Too bad he and Asher had never seen eye–to–eye when it came to handling things.
“They can struggle all they want, they’re still nothing but amateurs,” Asher replied lazily. “Anyway, since you already know what’s going on, I won’t waste my breath. Gotta run–heading to dinner.”
“Alright. Catch you later.”

After ending the call, Louis‘ gaze sharpened as he looked out the window. Down below, a familiar pair–one tall, one short- walked side by side carrying bags. The small one was skipping along, while the taller one turned to speak. Anyone unaware might’ve assumed they were mother and son. Either way, the scene was undeniably heartwarming.
Turning back to his desk, Louis sat down and resumed his work. He didn’t need to ask to know–lunch today was definitely going to be a feast.
And indeed, it was.
Except Aiden just couldn’t stop talking.
“What’s there to be bothered about? Uncle says all that stuff’s just external. No matter how expensive it is, it doesn’t make me any less valuable. Besides, they’re so dumb–why would I stoop to their level?” Aiden rolled his eyes dramatically–only to get a flick to the forehead from Louis.
