A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 122

As a certified nanny, she knew the importance of early childhood education. This wasn't just about teaching Jordyn that throwing things out of windows was wrong; it was clear the child was deeply frustrated and acting out aggressively.

The nanny continued, "Jordyn started crying, throwing a massive tantrum, saying she missed you both and wanted to be with her aunt and Uncle Holden. So... I took the liberty of bringing her here."

Iris asked, "Where's her brother?"

Jordyn's seven-year-old brother was also under Iris's care.

"Rosa is at home," the nanny replied. "I left while she was prepping dinner. She'll pick him up from school."

"Oh."

Still, Iris frowned with worry.

Jordyn had been enrolled in a prestigious private bilingual preschool since she was two. The first semester went smoothly—she liked the teachers, played well with the other kids, and loved going to school.

But this semester, a set of twins arrived. The little girl, Annelise, was so breathtakingly gorgeous that the teachers naturally favored her. Jordyn had gotten into a fight with Annelise over playing Snow White. Heartbroken for Jordyn, Holden had personally gone to the preschool and got the twins kicked out.

But then...

The night before last, at the Aqua Park, they had a disastrous run-in with Huxley Sheldon. Huxley had picked up Annelise's brother, claiming the boy was his son.

Thinking about it made Iris's blood boil. She had looked into it afterward; Huxley wasn't married and definitely didn't have any kids. He must have lost his mind that night. But for now, they couldn't afford to provoke him. Huxley was a powerhouse in Kingsbridge, and Holden was just starting to establish his footprint in the local business circle. He needed allies, not enemies.

Thankfully, she had Holden.

Holden had stepped up like the true head of the household, taking responsibility for them and acting as their anchor. He was amazing—coaxing the kids, taking care of them, educating them. He handled it all.

Not only that, but he also prioritized her mental health. Whenever she felt overwhelmed by her niece and nephew, Holden was always there to reassure her: *"I'm here. Don't worry."*

Without him, she'd probably end up like one of those miserable single mothers, working herself to the bone to pay the bills while desperately trying to raise the kids on her own.

Day in and day out, lonely and helpless, slowly draining herself dry. Raising kids was undoubtedly the hardest challenge a woman could face.

Iris looked at Holden holding Jordyn, her heart swelling with gratitude. Thank God she had him.
