A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 136

The moment Quentin walked away, Larissa and Demi sprawled over the dining table, leaning toward Shelly and grabbing her arm to ask questions.

"Aunt Shelly, what did you mean just now?"

"Why do we need to get on their good side? I thought you hated Winifred clinging to Uncle Quentin?"

Shelly watched Quentin's elegant figure walk away.

Her face was flushed with joy.

That man was about to transform into a big shot, looking down on the masses.

She was going to be a CEO's wife.

For the sake of his future, for their glorious tomorrow, she didn't mind throwing Winifred and her kids a few crumbs.

Shelly smiled brightly as she explained everything to Larissa and Demi.

"Goddess Iris tried some of the custom remedies and beauty creams from the Adams Wellness Clinic, and she was absolutely amazed. She called it a miracle cure."

"Her boyfriend, Mr. Lockwood, decided to start a massive company for her and invited your uncle to collaborate. They've even named the company already. It's called 'Iris-Adams Biopharma'."

"From now on, Iris will be the CEO of Iris-Adams Biopharma, and your uncle will be the technical core of the R&D department, controlling the lifeblood of the company. It's basically the role of Vice President."

"Iris and Adams joining forces to create greatness."

Wow!

That was amazing!

Larissa and Demi clapped their hands.

"I feel like Mr. Lockwood really loves Iris," Larissa said, her little face flushing with excitement.

Ever since Winifred took her kids to live outside, Larissa had been free to play on her phone whenever she wanted.

She'd spent the last few nights staying up late reading novels.

Her favorites were the ones where a domineering CEO pampered his sweet young wife.

Mr. Lockwood's doting on the Goddess Iris was exactly like a real-life version of those books.

Shelly replied, "I'm not sure how Mr. Lockwood is raising the funds, but Iris mentioned that your uncle will mainly handle the technical side, providing the formulas for the factory. He only needs to invest thirty million to get a thirty percent stake in the company."

Demi was worried. "But my uncle just paid off his mortgage. He doesn't have thirty million."

When Quentin bought the villa with a mortgage, the whole family moved from an old, walk-up apartment building. Even though everyone was ecstatic, the pressure of the loan was immense. Winifred had worked day and night to save money for it.

A few times, she had woken up in the middle of the night needing to use the bathroom. She'd see Winifred just getting back from her part-time jobs. In the dead of night, her shoes soaking wet from the rain, or snowflakes piled on her hair in the dead of winter.

Even at her young age, Demi could see how hard it was to earn money.

Shelly smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry. We'll mortgage the house, get a loan, and raise the money to partner with Iris."

They had already discussed it in Quentin's car today.

They'd mortgage the villa he was currently living in, max out all their credit cards for cash, take out some high-interest loans, and scrape it together.

If that still didn't make thirty million...

She had already thought it through. She'd mortgage her parents' house and the marital home Quentin had bought for her brother, and take out even more loans.
