A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 145

After a significant amount of shoving and twisting, they finally managed to force the bracelet past Shelly's knuckles.

Larissa breathed a sigh of relief. It was a tight squeeze, but they got it on. Aunt Shelly's birthday was saved, and she was thrilled.

Shelly smiled brightly, admiring the jade on her wrist. "I must have gained some weight. Since I started dating your uncle, he takes me out for incredible meals every single day. Lunch, dinner, and even late-night snacks. He spends hundreds on me daily just on food."

She cast a deeply affectionate look at Quentin. She lived a pampered life now—eating like royalty, doing minimal work at the clinic, and spending her days touching up her makeup in the lounge. She had the wealthy, comfortable glow of someone who was deeply cared for.

Demi rested her chin on Shelly's shoulder. "Of course! Uncle Quentin loves you. You deserve the best. Not like Winifred, who works like a dog and nobody even cares. Sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, she's just getting home from her second job. And by the time we wake up, she's already made breakfast and rushed off to catch the subway."

"Uncle Quentin even told Grandma that Winifred eats cheap fast food for lunch, and spends her free time either delivering medicine to patients or buying groceries for her kids," Demi continued. "Look at her—she's skinny as a rail. But you, Aunt Shelly, you're curvy, glowing, and clearly living the good life."

The comparison made Shelly beam. She weighed a healthy ten pounds more than Winifred. Winifred had that slender, tired look, whereas Shelly possessed the radiant, prosperous aura of a woman meant for luxury. Her pampered lifestyle only highlighted Winifred's miserable existence.

Shelly smiled smugly at the girls. "Well, thanks to your uncle, I do have a wonderful life."

Getting Quentin had changed everything. Her parents were blue-collar market vendors who had broken their backs to put her through a mediocre medical college. Even after graduating, she couldn't find a decent job. But then she hooked Quentin.

Now, Quentin was hers. The Adams Wellness Clinic was hers. And soon, the title of a wealthy CEO's wife would be hers too.

Weren't Seth and Annie supposed to be sitting alone, miserable, and ignored?

Why were they... surrounded by people?!

Adults were handing gifts to the children, and kids were hugging them. Gwen was holding Annie's hands, chatting and giggling like they were best friends reuniting after years apart. Seth was standing face-to-face with a little boy in a sharp tuxedo, shaking hands with the solemn seriousness of two businessmen.

And right in the middle of it all, the elegant, dignified Mrs. Channing was bent over, happily snapping photos of them on her phone.
