A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 190

Compared to all the happy, carefree women in the world, she was practically an old maid, completely out of touch with the times.

She was lost in her thoughts.

*Ding...*

A notification popped up at the top of her screen.

She immediately tapped it.

It was from Leland. A massive, beautiful photo plus a text message.

[The "Winifred & Leland" Wedding Photo] / [Grinning Face]

[I'm so mesmerized by how good we look. A match made in heaven right here, no need to envy those ordinary mortals. / [Hug]]

Oh my god.

Winifred stared at the "wedding photo" Leland had sent and burst out laughing.

It looked like he had secretly taken a picture of her on the day she bought that $48,000 dress, got all dolled up, and went to his office.

In the photo, she was wearing the pearl-white, one-shoulder, form-fitting dress, her straight black hair cascading down her back, a small crystal clip pinned in her hair. She was bending over slightly, looking incredibly gorgeous, her body angled, a sweet smile on her face. The pose looked exactly like the moment she was setting the coffee cup down on his coffee table.

Leland had photoshopped the coffee table out and replaced it with himself.

Since the table was low, Leland had edited himself kneeling on one knee, holding up a bouquet of flowers, smiling up at her with profound devotion, while her pale little hand rested gently against his cheek.

Looking closer, she realized Leland had even photoshopped a pristine white veil onto her head.

[How did you do this?] Winifred asked, thoroughly amused.

Leland: [Photoshopped it.]

He sent another: [Did it myself.]

And another: [Super gorgeous, right?]

Obviously. They both looked amazing, and with the editing and filters, it looked unbelievable. Flawless, even.

Plus, she had spent a fortune on that dress. Wearing a forty-thousand-dollar gown, she looked absolutely stunning.

Leland pressed on: [Do you like it?]

By the bed, Faye's brother, Ethan Seward, was holding a pair of shoes. He grabbed Claire's feet, dragged them out from under the blankets, and tried to force the shoes onto her.

The elderly bystanders couldn't help but intervene.

"You can't do that! It's the second day after a C-section! Her wound is still bleeding, it hurts too much to walk!"

"She had a difficult labor at the town clinic and had to be rushed here in an ambulance. Her body has been through hell! She needs to stay in the hospital for at least five days!"

Claire just kept crying.

Faye stood beside her, crying too.

Faye's mother stood behind her son, her rough hands hovering in the air as if she wanted to say something, but no words came out. She looked like she wanted to intervene, but did nothing.

She just spinelessly let her son torment his wife, who had just had major surgery.

Two nurses rushed over after hearing the commotion.

"Sir! The patient had a difficult delivery! She lost a lot of blood during surgery, and her catheter hasn't even been removed yet! She cannot be discharged today!" the nurse shouted, stepping in to stop him.

Ethan turned around, his eyes bulging, and stubbornly declared, "We have a family emergency! She has to leave today!"
