He had labeled her an unforgivable sinner.

This was the first time she had truly confronted those memories since the divorce. The things he had done felt like a knife twisting deep in her chest. The man she had once loved more than her own life had been the one to carve the deepest wounds into her heart.

Unable to hold them back, tears blurred her vision.

"Hahahaha!" Holden suddenly burst into laughter, staring directly at her.

"I'm not the only scumbag, am I, Winifred?" he smirked, casting a pointed glance at Leland. He was silently mocking her, implying that Leland was about to be swayed by the crowd and turn his back on her too.

He wanted her to realize that all men were the same, so she had no right to judge him for what he had done.

He was completely normal. He had done nothing wrong.

But then, Leland's voice cut through the tension, clear and utterly unfazed. "What exactly are you laughing at, Holden?"

"I'm laughing at you, you fool."

Holden laughed so hard he choked, coughing up a trail of fresh blood.

"Holden, don't move! You need to rest!" Iris shrieked, frantically dabbing at his chest to soothe him.

Leland's eyes were cold. "I'm not you. The woman I claim is flawless in my eyes. Anyone who slanders her, frames her, or attacks her is nothing but a bunch of crooked freaks to me."

Lyndon's face darkened. If Leland was making a move, it meant the main Lockwood family in Kingsbridge was involved. He quietly glanced at Iris, worried that his superstar daughter's reputation might take a hit. At the same time, he couldn't fathom why a Kingsbridge heir would bend over backward for someone like Winifred. He resolved to contact the main Lockwood family to complain about Leland's behavior.

Miles was the most shocked of them all. His Adam's apple bobbed nervously. He had always assumed Winifred wouldn't be able to survive without Holden, that Holden was her fatal weakness, and she would never accept another man.
