Hearing the commotion, Quentin rushed back into the room. He looked shocked.
"Winifred, what's going on here?"
Iris beat her to it, screaming, "She attacked us!"
Kian, still slumped on the floor, immediately backed her up. "She's insane enough to beat up a grown man! Just imagine what she did to Iris and Madeleine back then. They are delicate women who couldn't even defend themselves!"
He, a fully grown man, had just been effortlessly taken down by Winifred in two moves. He was suddenly deeply empathetic to the 'horrors' Iris and Madeleine must have endured.
His heart bled for them. He looked up at Iris with red, teary eyes. She was so gentle, so pure, and so kind. How could Winifred be so ruthless?
Having witnessed Winifred’s brutality firsthand, Kian swore to himself that he would bring her to justice. He would make her pay for hurting Iris, and he would definitely make her pay for nearly breaking his arm. Just wait and see!
Winifred, meanwhile, couldn't care less what Kian and Iris thought of her. She looked directly at Quentin. "Please escort these two out and notify security. They are banned from this clinic."
Before Quentin could say a word, a figure in a bright red dress drifted into the doorway.
Winifred turned and saw Shelly Hale, grinning from ear to ear, practically vibrating with excitement as she lunged toward Iris.
"Goddess! Ahhh! You're my goddess! Can I please get a picture with you?!"
The next second, Winifred caught Iris giving her a highly calculating look.
Iris pointed her chin toward Shelly. "She works at your clinic?"
"Yes!" Shelly was absolutely thrilled. She completely ignored Winifred, her eyes locked obsessively on Iris.
"I'm your biggest fan! I haven't missed a single episode of Starstruck: Her Moment! I literally set an alarm every Saturday just to watch it. I love you so much, you are absolutely flawless. You're so genuine and cute, everything about you is perfect! Ahhh!"
Iris graciously agreed to the photo, warmly chatting with Shelly as if they were old friends.
"Thank you so much for the support. I'll actually be filming two more episodes here in Kingsbridge soon. I'd love to make time to hang out with you, but unfortunately, this place isn't very... welcoming."
Shelly immediately whipped her head toward Quentin.
Every doctor in the building knew that the reality TV queen, Iris Morgan, had graced their clinic with her presence. Dr. Shultz should have been honored to treat such a massive star. But instead, the star was uncomfortable. And the reason was obvious: Winifred had messed up and offended her.
Quentin spoke up quickly. "Winifred, why don't you head back upstairs?"
"Of course. You're so sweet, I'd love to be friends with you."
Shelly pulled out her phone. "Can I get your number so we can keep in touch?"
"I'd love to, but unfortunately, my phone just broke."
Shelly immediately snapped her head back toward Quentin, blurting out, "Quentin, my goddess was treated terribly here today. The clinic needs to buy her ten new phones as an apology!"
Quentin was busy adjusting Kian's arm and didn't respond.
Shelly nudged his leg with her foot. "Quentin, did you hear me?"
"I heard you," Quentin mumbled, keeping his head down.
Shelly pressed urgently, "You need to buy her those phones ASAP! Seeing her upset is breaking my heart!"
"Okay," Quentin agreed instantly.
Winifred turned around and walked out of the room in total silence. As she stepped into the hall, several anxious patients rushed up to her, crowding around her.
