A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 263

That very evening, Iris arranged a meeting with Kian and Preston.

She dressed impeccably to see the two men who would do anything for her.

They met at The Elysian Club, a high-end private venue in Seaport City. Kian hosted, dropping over two hundred thousand on drinks while exotic dancers entertained them in the private suite.

"How are you holding up? Has anyone given you a hard time?" Preston asked, his face etched with concern under the crystal chandelier.

Iris placed her phone on the table, displaying the official announcement of Roland and Madeleine's divorce that had dropped at noon.

Tears welled in her eyes, making her look fragile and deeply wounded.

"Holden's parents have white hair, and they're getting a divorce. The whole internet is talking about it. You can imagine... what my situation is like right now."

"Roland Lockwood is crossing the line!" Preston slammed his hand down, rattling the expensive bottles of wine. To cause such a public scandal at his age was despicable.

That morning, Roland had dragged the whole family into his divorce drama. As his daughter-in-law, Iris was implicitly tied to the humiliation. Roland had absolutely no shame.

Worse yet, the public announcement sparked a new wave of gossip, once again dragging Iris's name through the mud.

She was suffering a double blow today.

Preston's heart ached for her. His eyes even went a little red.

"Look at you... so beautiful, so talented, so kind and innocent. And yet, Holden's side of things is just... ugh!" He sighed heavily.

Such a radiant woman, forced to endure so much pain simply because she fell in love with Holden. First, his ex-wife hurt her. Now, his parents were hurting her. It wasn't fair.

Kian placed a steadying hand on Preston's arm. "Don't be dramatic. Keep it together."

Iris had heard Roland say as much herself, the night before their engagement party. Roland had accused Holden of turning Iris-Adams into a Morgan family asset, leaving the Lockwoods with nothing.

"I know," she whispered.

Kian continued to tap the table. "Roland has frozen Holden's liquid assets."

The launch of Iris-Adams Biopharma required a massive initial investment. She was still billions short, and Holden barely had anything left to his name.

She understood completely.

And it broke her heart. Holden was being punished and restricted by his father, suffering just to protect her.

"So... you'll help me, won't you?" Iris blinked, allowing the single tear to fall perfectly onto her thigh.
