A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 341

Vivian gently wiped a smudge of oil from Jordyn’s mouth. Holden took the bowl, spooning up a bite of creamed corn for the little girl. As she chewed, Jordyn looked up.

"Uncle Holden?"

"Yeah?"

"If I go live at Mommy's house, will you come visit me?"

"I will."

"Promise?"

"Promise. Once I'm done with work, I'll go buy you that pink diamond tiara and bring it over."

After dinner, Holden let Jordyn sit comfortably in the crook of his arm, carrying her as they headed back to the villa he shared with Iris.

Vivian’s car was parked far away, hidden beneath the shadows of bare winter trees. She stepped out alone.

Holden didn’t comment.

But the moment they walked through the door, the Morgan family, who had arrived earlier, immediately launched their verbal assault.

Beatrice sneered. "Well, if it isn't Valery. Remarried, are we? You certainly look less miserable."

Owen sat with his legs crossed, his chin tipped up, looking down his nose at her. The disgust on his face made it clear he still saw her as nothing but a bitter ex-wife.

"Have a seat," Holden said, gesturing to the sofa for Vivian before sitting down himself, still holding Jordyn.

Jordyn squirmed in his lap. Holden looked down and saw her timidly glancing at Owen, then at her grandparents.

She caught Beatrice’s eye. Her little lips trembled.

"Grandma..." she called out timidly.

Vivian let out a tired sigh. She turned to Holden, her voice low. "Let's get this over with. I don't want to listen to their garbage anymore."

Holden looked at the Morgans. "The police informed Valery... Vivian to come pick up Jordyn. Given Iris's mental state, it's too dangerous for the child to stay with her."

Owen shrugged dismissively. "Jordyn's custody belongs to her mother anyway. She's just been a horrible mother, so we had to let Jordyn stay with her aunt. If she wants to take her back now, nobody's stopping her."

"She wants to take both kids," Holden clarified.

Owen's eyes widened, and then widened some more.

Yvonne was over two months pregnant with his golden child. He was going to have a son soon—a perfect, wealthy heir born from a high-society heiress.

Whether Hugo stayed or left made zero difference to him.

In fact... Hugo was a liability. Ever since Yvonne got pregnant, she constantly complained about him. Hugo was the firstborn. He was older than her unborn son, and she was terrified he would snatch up the Morgan family assets that rightfully belonged to her baby.
