"Don't say mean things about Aunt Iris!"
Jordyn slapped her little hands over her mother's mouth.
"She beat you like this... it breaks my heart," Vivian sobbed.
Jordyn looked like she was about to cry too, her lower lip trembling.
"But Aunt Iris has it hard too! She said... she said she was really sad... If she wasn't so sad, she wouldn't have hit me... waaah..."
Vivian pulled her into a tight hug. "My poor baby... it's all Mommy's fault for letting you get hurt so badly."
The sound of her crying was almost unbearable.
Holden sighed heavily.
"Vivian, in my personal opinion, your immediate priority should be securing custody of your son, Hugo. Get both of your children back first, and settle the score with Iris later."
Vivian stopped crying.
"You're on Iris's side. I know exactly what game you're playing."
Holden replied calmly, "I won't try to defend myself if you suspect me. Let's just talk facts. Owen has custody of your son right now. Do you honestly think he'll just let you take him?"
During the divorce, because Hugo was a boy, the Morgan family had insisted on keeping him.
Owen secured custody but simply dumped the boy onto Iris to raise.
He kept his son as a trophy but refused to actually parent him, preferring to spend all his time parading around with his new flame, Yvonne.
That was exactly the kind of man Owen was.
Going up against him was no easy feat for an ordinary person.
Vivian lowered her gaze.
"Are you trying to make a deal with me?"
Holden replied, "I wouldn't call it a deal. I have my own motives, but you need to understand one thing: choosing between reaching a settlement over Iris or winning back your son's custody, the latter is far more beneficial to you."
Vivian slightly relaxed her guard.
"Then I'll leave the mediation to you. If Owen demands a payout to give up my son, my absolute limit is one million."
"Done."
Holden reached out to take Jordyn, lifting her securely into the crook of his arm.
Several men were there assisting Vivian.
Miles carried the dog's backpack, while Vivian's three escorts carried the princess dress, the crown box, and a fruit basket respectively.
After making sure Vivian and her group were well taken care of, he immediately started making calls to the Morgan family.
Both of Iris's parents, Lyndon and Beatrice, were already in Kingsbridge, having arrived a while ago.
Partly, they were there to check on the pregnant Yvonne. The child she was carrying was as precious as gold to them—the youngest daughter of the Sutton family, the third most powerful dynasty in Kingsbridge, was about to birth a glorious heir for the Morgans.
The other reason was the launch of Iris-Adams Biopharma. As a major shareholder with a five-billion-dollar investment, Lyndon Morgan had a major say in the company and needed to be present for crucial executive decisions.
Owen, who had been out of town accompanying Yvonne, had also just returned.
Holden arranged for all these key figures to meet.
He then called the nanny at home and instructed her to pack up all of Hugo's belongings.
With everything perfectly orchestrated.
Holden reached out to take the children's bowl from Vivian.
"I'll feed Jordyn. You go ahead and eat."
"It's fine, I'll feed her. You eat."
"I don't mind. You're a lady, and you've had an exhausting day. Please, eat."
Jordyn happily chimed in, interrupting them, "I want Uncle Holden to feed me!"
