A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 385

Quentin tried to shove his way into the room, but Winifred grabbed his arm and forcefully threw him back against the hallway wall.

"He's disrespecting me! He's rejecting his own father!" Quentin was livid. "Who the hell is he calling dad now?"

"Whoever my children choose to call their father is my family's business. It has nothing to do with you," she snapped, her eyes blazing with contempt.

"What you need to worry about is this: First, your parents are delusional if they think I'll ever settle. Second, the deed to 18 Auburn Avenue was Chester's inheritance. His will explicitly states that if we can't make things work, the property gets split—one floor per person. Expect a call from my lawyer to finalize the transfer of ownership."

Quentin was enraged. "You're really leaving me?"

Her kids were calling another man dad. She was dividing their assets. She was completely cutting him out of her life.

"Have you forgotten what Holden Lockwood did to you?" His face turned a furious, ugly shade of purple.

How could she be abused to the point of near-death, yet still turn around and take her kids back to that world? The more he spoke, the angrier he became until his emotions entirely boiled over.

"Did you forget how his mother framed you? How she locked you in a pitch-black room and starved you? You spent seventeen days psychologically tortured, rotting in there with rats!"

"Did you forget walking through the freezing rain, pregnant with his children, desperately looking for him—only to find out he was getting engaged to Iris? They were living in a literal palace, wrapped up in each other!"

"Do you even remember how you 'died'?"

"You were assaulted! Your head was bashed in!"

"You were pregnant with quadruplets, folded in half, and shoved into a suitcase—"

"Shut up!" Winifred screamed, a sudden, blinding agony exploding in her skull.

She grabbed the door handle, struggling to stay upright. "Get out!"

She yanked the door open, practically dragging herself inside, and slammed it shut, pressing her spine heavily against the wood.

"Winifred, what's wrong?"

She thought she heard Quinn call her name. She opened her mouth to reply, but no sound came out.
