Quentin: [I'm busy with my career, going to exhausting meetings, buying a house, buying a car, raising you, and paying for your schooling. Don't you understand?]

Quentin sounded like his lungs were going to explode: [Boy! Give the phone to your mother!!]

Winifred had just finished washing her hair and walked out to see Seth arguing on the phone, his little face red.

She reached out. "Give it to Mommy. Let Mommy talk."

Her mom was throwing a lunar birthday party for her the day after tomorrow, and she wouldn't even be able to invite Yara, Gwen, and Kirk.

She had also lost her role as Snow White.

Next month, the kindergarten was hosting a parent-child sports day, and she wouldn't get a chance to perform on stage.

Winifred hugged a child in each arm, coaxing them.

"How about Mommy finds something fun for you to do?"

"I want Daddy~ hiccup!" Annelise couldn't stop crying.

Tears welled up in Winifred's eyes. "Take a nap first. When you wake up, Mommy will take you out to play. We'll have dinner out and come back a little later. That way, you'll see Daddy when he gets home before bed."

"Mommy~ hiccup, where are you taking us to play?"

"Okay." Annelise smiled through her tears. "But, Mommy, tickets are very expensive."

Back on Children's Day, Daddy had told her that the money it cost for the whole family to watch the mermaid show was enough to buy rice for six years.

Between playing and eating, she knew eating food to grow strong was more important.

Seth comforted her. "Leave it to me. My New Year's allowance should be enough."
