A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 80

"For the past two years, Mommy took on side jobs, made extra money, and quietly bought this house."

Annelise was thrilled. "Mommy, the pretty house is ours?"

"Yes. Mommy bought it. It's our very own home."

Annelise hopped down, raising her little hands in the air and dancing around.

Seth's tightly furrowed brow finally relaxed.

Winifred watched the faint smile surface on his little face. "Seth, you're happy too, right?"

Seth hopped down, faced Winifred, and bowed deeply.

"What are you doing!?" Shocked, Winifred quickly squatted down to help him up.

She already felt like she owed her children so much; how could she accept such a grand gesture from him?

Seth held onto her hands, his eyes welling with tears, and confessed word by word, "Mommy, you've worked so hard. Working from dawn till dusk every day, never even taking a weekend off."

"When I grow up, I will give you the best life."

"I swear... I will protect Mommy, love Mommy, and honor Mommy forever. If anyone dares to bully my Mommy, I will definitely... destroy them!!"

Oh...

She didn't even have time to correct the "destroy them" part, nor did she care if people saw her crying in public.

The tears broke through the dam.

Once upon a time, a certain someone had also said he loved her, swearing oaths for her sake.

After that man died, she thought her heart would never beat again in this lifetime.

She never expected the heavens to treat her so kindly, gifting her such a wonderful son.

Her heart was alive again.

She completely believed in her son's feelings for her.

She finally had someone standing by her side, someone who would never abandon her.

If someone ever framed her again, Seth would definitely shield her first, keep her from harm, and then investigate the truth to clear her name.

Winifred saw the anger in his eyes.

She had gone through too much lately, and it had inadvertently affected the children's moods.

Fortunately, the turning point had arrived.

She hadn't told anyone about her two years of planning.

Not even Celeste or the kids, preventing them from accidentally spilling the secret and sparking a dispute with Quentin over her personal assets.

Only by making everyone believe she couldn't survive without Quentin could she make a clean, entanglement-free getaway.

She had spoken a bit too much, laughing and crying, which drew the attention of a guest.

A refined, fair-skinned man walked over to their table.

Winifred was just about to apologize.

The elegant man smiled, his eyes sparkling as he looked at her, asking in surprise, "Dr. Shultz?"

"Dr. Shultz from the Adams Wellness Clinic, is that you?"
