Chapter 33
RichDragonWolf: [I’ve learned something through my own information channels. In the future, players are going to have to survive on the Aethelgard continent itself.
[The relationship between players isn’t purely competitive. And this is a continent of magic.
[I’m hoping that when the time comes and I need help with something magical, you’ll be willing to lend a hand.]
RichDragonWolf’s words came across as entirely sincere. And right now, Chloe genuinely needed magical materials.
Chloe: [Alright. When the opportunity comes, I’ll give you something even better than Legendary-grade magical materials in return.]
RichDragonWolf didn’t say anything more. He simply sent the magical materials over.
Notification: [Rich DragonWolf has traded a Magical Materials Gift Package in exchange for 3 Umbrellas.}
Chloe accepted. The sheer audacity of his offer left her momentarily stunned.
Notification: [Congratulations. You have obtained Emerald Phoenix Core (Legendary), Corrupted Goat Horn *3 (Epic), Wind Slime Essence *5 (Rare), Ice Core *3 (Rare).]
Chloe: [Thank you. Is there any material you need? I have a special Resource Domain Card. I can do my best to help you acquire whatever resources you’re after when I use it.]
In Chloe’s eyes, these materials were priceless. A deep sense of gratitude welled up in her.
RichDragonWolf: [Help me find high-level weapons, building schematics, and anything that can store items.]
RichDragonWolf had his own regrets. He knew perfectly well how precious Legendary materials were.
But he possessed zero magical attributes. Every single magical material displayed the same status to him: unusable, unprocessable. The higher the grade, the more absolute the restriction.
Even Premium materials were beyond him the moment their attributes included anything marked High-Magic. What was worse, his talent had saddled him with a debuff.
Notification: [Magic-Banned Hunter: All magically-attributed, unprocessed items will contaminate you and increase your Energy consumption.
ľ
[Prolonged contact with high-grade magical materials has a chance to permanently reduce your Energy cap, Health cap, and Attribute Points.]
“The debuff is brutal,’ Chloe remarked. And this Legendary material carried a High Risk magical trait on top of that.
Notification: [Emerald Phoenix Core: A crystal core condensed from the mana source of a mighty phoenix. Possesses extremely potent elemental corrosiveness.
(Quality: Legendary. Attributes: Superior Elemental Medium / Dreamscape Fragment / High-Mana Energy Medium/ Volatility/Corrosiveness/Alchemical Ingredient / Brittle Crystal.
[Magic Threat Level: High Risk.
[Special Effect: If stored without a specialized magical container, it will stir the surrounding wind element into a frenzy, generating small-scale destructive cyclones that indiscriminately demolish minor structures.

The negative effects on this thing were outright terrifying. RichDragonWolf had been plagued by it without respite.
The cyclones spawned by the Legendary material had destroyed his weapon toolhouse five
perite times.
Not to mention the number of times during combat it had nearly gotten hira killed, nearly bling him right off the edge of his territory into the abyss.
When he’d first pulled a Legendary material during the novice period, he’d actually believed he was the protagonist of this story. Instead, it had been nothing but a curse.
Yet he couldn’t bring himself to simply throw away a Legendary material. It was unthinkable.
He’d once tried to offload it to NobleScalper at a low price. NobleScalper collected everything, and the rarer the material, the more he wanted it.
The man was the worst kind of profiteer. He’d never pass up a bargain.
But not long after acquiring it, NobleScalper had sent the Legendary material right back.
He’d said, flat out, that no player currently possessed the ability to contain this item. No special tool could isolate its magical properties.
Rich DragonWolf knew NobleScalper’s information network was second to none. If even he said it was impossible, then no player in the entire game could handle this material.
It was destined for the trash heap. The regret sat heavy in his chest.
But before he threw it away, his talent had leveled up. He’d advanced his talent and gained Hunter’s Vision.
The moment he realized he could see magical potential, this plan had sparked in his mind. He could use this Legendary magical material to earn a massive favor instead.
Whether the other party later suffered under its curse, well, that would be the material’s problem, not his. So he’d delivered it into Chloe’s hands.
If RichDragonWolf could have glimpsed the future, he’d have known this was the single best decision he ever made.
At that moment, Chloe was staring at the Legendary magical material, the Emerald Phoenix Core, completely lost in thought.
She saw the High-Risk marker in its attributes, of course. That was to be expected.
From the Arcane Botany Compendium, she’d learned that many magical plants, especially those with potent mana, carried inherent magical dangers.
A Legendary magical material contained unimaginable magical energy. High Risk was the baseline. The deeper she delved into magic, the more she understood just how perilous it truly was.
Her eyes fixed on one particular attribute of the Emerald Phoenix Core: [Elemental Medium.]
She knew it could be used as material for the Basic Arcane Defense Tower. And the materials were more than sufficient to upgrade the Arcane Workbench.

Phine pressed down the clation bubbling in her heart and silently renewed her gratitude toward Rich DragonWolf. She took several deep breaths to steady herself.
Then, without another second of hesitation, she opened the Workbench interface and used the upgrade tome
