Chapter 43 Selling Warming Stones

Eureka’s announcement gave Chloe the perfect chance to sell her Warming Stones.

If winter arrived tomorrow, today was the best time to sell them for a good price.

After all, even though yesterday’s monster wave was dangerous, plenty of players still managed to collect some valuable loot.

The Trading Post was filled with all kinds of items up for sale.

There was a wide variety of goods, ranging from toothbrushes, towels, soap, and tissues to an increasing number of everyday necessities.

And they weren’t cheap. Everything was going for at least ten units of basic materials.

Chloe was currently saving materials to upgrade her territory. When she saw soap and toothbrushes, she felt a moment of temptation, but she held herself back.

She currently had five Premium Warming Stones: two for personal use, and three available for sale.

She’d already put them to the test, and they were extremely useful.

Placing a Warming Stone next to a fire automatically absorbed heat.

Using one felt like carrying a portable heater. The warmth would gradually fade, but as long as it was placed back by the fire, it would recharge and heat up again.

It was extremely convenient.

After thinking it over, Chloe put up a description and the features of the Warming Stones on the screen, along with her price.

Chloe: [Selling Warming Stones. Limit three per buyer. 300 basic materials. Prefer Basic Stone Blocks, Basic Iron Ingots, or Glass Panes. DM me if you’re interested.]

Chloe’s inbox was flooded with all sorts of messages.

With yesterday’s high death count looming over everyone, demand for medicine and weapons among players had really skyrocketed.

As a survival item, Warming Stones hadn’t hit their peak price yet.

But today was already cold enough.

Chloe completed a deal with Eureka, trading for 100 Basic Iron Ingots and 200 Basic Stone Blocks.

Now she only needed about 140 more Basic Stone Blocks and 100 units of crystal materials to meet the requirements for upgrading her territory.

Even though Chloe knew the Warming Stones would probably sell for even more tomorrow, she wanted to upgrade her territory today to boost her ability to handle risks.

Once her territory was upgraded, she’d get a Radar Map, she could monitor everything at any time. Then she would be able to use her Forest Resource Card to leave her territory and gather more supplies

Out of a hundred thousand players, a good number were making solid progress

More players started making offers

JellyDumpling: [How about I trade you 100 Quartz, 50 Basic Stone Blocks, 5 Special Strawberry Seeds, and 1 ceramic tea set? That’s all I’ve got right now)

JellyDumpling could barely stand the cold anymore

She came from a hot climate and wasn’t used to cold weather at all. A few friends had already warned her that tomorrow’s snowfall could send temperatures plunging below freezing.

JellyDumpling absolutely couldn’t handle

‘perature.

Chapter 43 Selling Warming Stones

About 46 to 48°F was as cold as she could handle. Anything lower, and she usually had to rely on heat packs just to get through it.

She’d already been struggling with the rainy days lately.

On top of that, the first expansion building she constructed was a ceramic workshop, designed for shaping molds. It offered little insulation against the cold and was filled with clay materials.

At the newbie stage, most players were struggling to meet basic survival needs, so almost nobody had any use for ceramic tools or equipment.

Plus, seeds were basically worthless right now.

It wasn’t like no one had tried planting. In fact, plenty of players had already proven the soil was completely unusable for planting. Those with special planting talents even complained that they’d been dropped into hell difficulty from the start.

The soil was heavily corrupted, so nothing would grow in it.

As a result, seeds were practically worthless. Many players simply discarded them to free up inventory slots, while others tried burying them, only to find that every single time, the seeds died anyway.

And the more seeds were destroyed or wasted, the more players received a terrifying debuff. [Betrayer of Life: You’ve killed too many seeds and crushed too much hope. Now you’re cursed! [Curse Effect: Your maximum Health is halved. Destroy fewer seeds to reduce the curse’s duration.] They could neither be thrown away nor planted, leading many players to call seeds a “version trap.” And the player who first discovered this curse was, ironically, the one with the special planting talent. When Chloe saw the strawberry seeds and the ceramic bowl, her attention sharpened. She remembered she had a special item, Resting Soil.

An idea came to her mind.

After wrapping up the deal with JellyDumpling, Chloe shot her another message: [Can you craft ceramic items?

JellyDumpling replied: [Yup, I can.]

Chloe asked: [Could you make a flowerpot for me? I need a larger one.]

JellyDumpling texted: [No problem, but making custom ceramic stuff costs me Talent Points right now. For a flowerpot, I’ll need three Talent Points, and it’ll take at least three days. And just so you know, the Crafting Fee isn’t cheap.]

‘Sounds about right, Chloe thought to herself.

Chloe had already learned the hard way how valuable Talent Points were.

She sent another message: [Can you craft a flowerpot for me? Prioritize making the flowerpot, please] JellyDumpling (A flowerpot? Sure, but even with one, nothing will actually grow. Trust me, I’ve tried Also, custom pots may come with additional talent effects, so there could be extra charges If you need it in three days, you’ll have to make a down payment ]

Chloe: [Sure]

Chloe was thinking, ‘Maybe I should find an opportunity to hoard some seeds

Seeds were bound to become more valuable

If she could actually manage to grow something, and with everyone else treating seeds like they’re cursed, she could snag all sorts of special seeds, even magical ones, for dirt cheap.

Plus, the 100 Quartz JellyDumpling was offering was exactly the crystal building material Chloe needed most right now.

Even if it was just Common-grade Quartz.

Chapter 43 Selling Warming Stones

Chloe was basically selling her Warming Stones at a loss.

But she didn’t really have a choice, she was in urgent need of basic materials. Even if other players had way more resources than JellyDumpling, none of them could offer up a hundred units of crystal materials all at once for a trade.

So Chloe accepted the deal.

Now, she only needed 140 more Basic Stone Blocks.
