Chapter 47
Chapter 47
Every single item turned out to be Epic-tier.
Chloe’s eyes widened slightly. Her Luck stat hadn’t really come through for her in a long time. Most of the chess she opened lately only gave Premium-grade items. Rare drops were already uncommon, and Epic-tier rewards were even harder to come by.
Still, that was the normal drop rate. If anything, she was lucky to have the Arcane Wish Rod. Without it, there was no way she would’ve collected this many high-quality items.
This was also her first time opening a Wish Chest, and the rewards just so happened to be perfect for outdoor exploration
With her territory now protected and several One-Time Teleportation Cards in hand, Chloe was already planning to use the Special Forest Resource Card the next day.
Even so, the rewards from the Wish Chest were so good that she couldn’t help opening the Trading Post to search for With Chest.”
With over a hundred thousand players in the game, a few people had actually gotten one before.
Most of them, however, were complaining about it.
NoMoreBadLuck: [Damn, I unlocked an Achievement and got a chance to fuse chests. I used up all the Silver Chests I’d been saving forever to make a Wish Chest. Guess what I got?
[Ha! A full set of Common-tier gear and blueprints!
[Don’t stop me. I’m about to lose my mind!]

Chloe read through the posts for a while and gradually noticed a pattern. The Wish Chest seemed to randomly roll a quality tier first, and every item inside would match that tier.
That would explain why all the rewards she got were advanced epic-grade items.
She couldn’t help wondering whether anyone had ever pulled a legendary-tier item from a Wish Chest. Or maybe something even rarer.
‘It seems possible, she thought.
Even if opening a Wish Chest was partly a gamble, advanced items were simply too hard to come by. If she ever got another chance to fuse chests into a Wish Chest, she would absolutely do it again.
By then, it was already late. Ever since she built the Arcane Defense Tower, her nights had become unusually peaceful.
Sitting inside the cabin beside the Crystal of Knowledge, Chloe casually grilled meat over the barbecue rack without worrying about monsters or combat at all.
“This feels good, she thought.
After a moment, Chloe sat down on the bed and opened her previous chat with Eureka.
Eureka had warned her before that once she entered a Resource Card area, she would lose access to the Trading Post entirely. That meant she needed to prepare every supply she might need ahead of time.
She checked her inventory and immediately felt a headache coming on. She was short on almost everything, even food.
Chapter 47
She needed potions that could restore Health and Energy, along with armor, quick rations, lighting equipment, a compass to keep from getting lost in the forest, and all kinds of supplies that might come in handy during exploration
Tomorrow, she planned to upgrade the Arcane Dew Collector first, sell it off, exchange it for the supplies she needed, and then officially set out.
Fortunately, she already had a basic set of hiking gear, including a Multipurpose Hiking Backpack, a Climbing, Pick, Hiking Boots, and a Hiking Suit.
The hiking backpack itself had a huge capacity, though it was nowhere near as powerful as the Refined Obsidian Backpack. After testing it herself, Chloe realized the Obsidian Backpack functioned almost like a system inventory. Anything stored inside became completely weightless.
The backpack itself wasn’t large either, only about the size of a school satchel. The hiking pack, on the other hand, was nearly half her height.
Chloe clicked her tongue. It seemed the hiking backpack was only meant for carrying physical items, with no special properties.
Even so, she packed the hiking bag into the Obsidian Backpack, where it occupied a single slot. As for the remaining details she decided to sort them out tomorrow instead.
After putting away the dew collected from the Arcane Dew Collector, Chloe used the ceramic tableware she’d traded from JellyDumpling to drink water and snack on a few crackers.
The whole thing felt oddly ceremonial, and for a moment, she realized life actually wasn’t too bad right now.

[Novice Protection Period: Day 7
[Weather: Light Snow, 27°F. Please stay warm.]
The next morning, Chloe woke to a blinding stretch of white outside.
Her entire territory had been blanketed in snow, while fine snowflakes continued drifting quietly through the air.
Chloe rubbed her eyes and shivered from the cold before suddenly remembering the rabbit-fur earmuffs and winter clothes she’d obtained earlier. After changing into them and finally warming up a little, she grabbed an umbrella and stepped outside.
Aside from the one she kept for herself, she had given the rest of her umbrellas to RichDragonWolf.
In her mind, those premium umbrellas had long since exceeded their original value. Even legendary-tier and several epic- tier magic materials still wouldn’t be enough for a fair trade. If she had to gather those materials herself, she’d probably never get them in this lifetime.
Holding her backup umbrella, Chloe stepped into the snowy yard. Her old umbrella had already been ruined, but before throwing it away, she’d used a smaller umbrella to build a simple canopy over the carrot plant.
Unfortunately, the makeshift canopy had already been badly corroded by the acid rain and looked like it could collapse at
any moment.
Back then, the carrot had been gnawed down until only the roots remained, and Chloe genuinely thought the Carrot Seed was done for. To her surprise, a small status box now floated beside it:
[Repairing]
Its condition was steadily improving, though status notifications still kept popping up above it:

[Cold]
[Cold]
The weather really had turned much colder.
If the temperature kept dropping, outdoor plants probably wouldn’t survive much longer. Farming really was far more difficult than she’d imagined.
After thinking for a moment, Chloe took out an extra Warming Stone and placed it beside the carrot, then propped up another umbrella nearby to create a makeshift thermal shelter against the snow.
When she spotted the “Happy” status above the seeds, she finally let out a breath of relief.
She then checked on the nearby Slime Essence Seed and discovered that its sprouting progress had jumped all the way to
1%.
Raising an eyebrow, she glanced at the soil and realized the corruption level had dropped significantly.
[Current Soil Corruption: 46%
[Vitality Fuel Remaining: 67%]
Walking around the Arcane Soil Purifier, Chloe discovered that it had already cleansed a surprisingly large patch of land around it, covering an area of nearly ten by ten feet.
The downside, however, was the massive fuel consumption. Sooner or later, she would have to find a way to obtain higher- grade Vitality Fuel.
‘Growing crops really is a pain,’ she thought with a sigh.
After checking on the condition of all her plants, Chloe took out the Arcane Dew Collector.
