Chapter 49
For a brief moment, Chloe was genuinely tempted by the Skill Tomes Noble Scalper had listed.
Skills like herb identification, navigation, and climbing or traversal techniques would be incredibly useful for wilderness exploration.
More importantly, there was one particular skill Chloe needed that NobleScalper clearly hadn’t realized the value of ye
Liquid Extraction.
Chloe had already learned the basics of Magic Runes, but she still hadn’t actually started using them. Kure crafting required far more than just a Rune Pen and theoretical knowledge. More importantly, it needed special mediums.
Plant Extraction Liquid, Elemental Extraction Liquid, Crystal Core Extraction Liquid…
In magical studies, Extraction Knowledge were incredibly valuable. Almost every liquid medium used in rune crafting had to go through complicated extraction and refinement processes.
Chloe could tell NobleScalper wasn’t showing his real inventory yet. Everything he’d listed so far was just basic materials. ordinary blueprints, and surface-level supplies.
A Merchant like him definitely had his own ways of securing water. While the Arcane Dew Collector was valuable, it still wasn’t enough to truly tempt him.
Chloe: [Do you have any advanced Skill Tomes or Expansion Facilities?]
Noble Scalper: [Well, that depends on what direction you’re aiming for.]
[Territory development is usually tied closely to a player’s Talent. Choosing facilities that match your Talent will make future progression much smoother.
[I’ve got rare weapon-forging blueprints, as well as some advanced building blueprints. Production-type buildings like bakeries, map-making workshops, hide-processing stations, and hunters’ cabins. Or something more specialized. like an observatory or an Enchantment House.
[And also… Arcane Workbench upgrade blueprints.]
NobleScalper: [Anything here catch your interest?]
For a split second, Chloe realized what he was doing. NobleScalper wasn’t just negotiating. He was quietly probing for information about her preferences and development path.
The moment she saw the Arcane Workbench, her thoughts jumped back to Fearless Reaper and his ridiculous demands.
Noble Scalper really lived up to his name. He was the type who constantly bought, traded, and flipped resources to maximize profit.
In truth, he and Fearless Reaper were similar in some ways, but NobleScalper was far more subtle. He knew how to guide conversations naturally, gather information through casual wording, and figure out the other party’s acceptable price range without making them feel uncomfortable.
A genuinely shrewd merchant.
Chloe’s lashes flickered slightly.
And someone like him would absolutely raise the price the moment he sensed an opportunity.

Chapter 19
Sull, Chloe had to admit his approach was smart. It’s pretty impressive, honestly. The way he reads people so unt arall anticipates what they want, and still turns a profit without making anyone uneasy takes real skill
She didn’t dislike people like him. If anything, she felt she had a lot to learn from traders like that
After all, business had never really been her strength. More than once, she had missed the best timing to sell things in the chat and ended up losing out on higher prices.
But this was different. This Extraction Skill Tome was absolutely worth grabbing
Chloe: [None of those advanced blueprints are what I need.J
[The Skill Tomes are interesting. I’ll trade this Arcane Dew Collector for all your basic skill blueprints. No extra materia)
NobleScalper: [Hmm… That works. Let’s call it a friendly trade.]
[NobleScalper is offering: Basic Extraction, Herb Identification and Basic Crafting, Climbing and Jumping Techniqués. Reading Mastery, and Navigation Skill Tomes in exchange for the Arcane Dew Collector. Accept?}
Chloe tapped “Accept.”
A second later, five Skill Tomes appeared in her hands.
Reading Mastery was Common-grade. Climbing & Jumping Techniques and Navigation were Premium-grade, while Basic Extraction and Herb Identification & Basic Crafting were both Rare-grade.
One Common, two Premium, and two Rare Skill Tomes in exchange for a Rare Arcane Dew Collector. All things considered. it was a fair trade. If anything, Skill Tomes had always been worth more than production tools.
After all, Skill Tomes were much harder to collect. Most players only found fragments in the beginning, and piecing together a complete tome usually required both time and connections.
Compared to MintyGrass’s herbs, these Skill Tomes would be far more useful to Chloe in the long run.
Chloe opened a private chat with LilFish.
She had also opened a private chat with LilFish. Chloe remembered her Talent had something to do with restoring ancient texts and repairing damaged Skill Tomes.
LilFish showed her quite a collection, but the one Chloe really wanted was a Rare Skill Tome called Evasion Sense.
Unfortunately, that one wasn’t up for trade right now. She could only wait and see if another opportunity came along in the future.
The moment Chloe got the Skill Tomes, she used them immediately.
[Congratulations! You’ve unlocked Basic Extraction!
[Congratulations! You’ve unlocked Herb Identification & Basic Crafting!
[Congratulations! You’ve unlocked Climbing & Jumping Techniques, Navigation, and Reading Mastery!]
More notifications continued popping up, one after another.
As the skills took hold, a flood of knowledge and memories surged into Chloe’s mind. It felt like her brain had been force- fed all at once, the pressure building until it throbbed with pain.
By the time she finally adjusted to the splitting headache and recovered from the mental overload, five minutes had already passed. More than 200 points of Energy had been drained in the process.

Chapter 49
So learning Skill Tomes did come with a cost.
Chloe stretched her stiff shoulders, drank some dew, grabbed a quick breakfast, and used the rainwater she had stored earlier to rinse off.
After changing into a full set of hiking gear and pulling on her boots, she gathered the equipment she planned to bring with her: a Magic Protective Mask, Magic Protection Gloves, and the Obsidian Backpack.
Inside the backpack’s storage slots were hier elimbing pick, Refined Obsidian Axe, Refined Obsidian Pickaxe, and the special one-time teleportation item, all packed and ready for immediate use.
Chloe drew in a slow breath, surprised to find herself feeling a little nervous.
Then she finally took out the special item she had been reluctant to use until now.
[Use Special Resource Domain Card?]
Chloe hit “Yes.”
As soon as she did, the world lurched. Everything spun as the ground tilted beneath her feet, and Chloe nearly lost her balance.
Standing inside the wooden cabin, she stared out through the glass window at the snow-covered scenery outside. One second, the world was still blanketed in white. The next, darkness swallowed everything whole.
It was only early afternoon.
Chloe grabbed onto the edge of the cabin. She couldn’t see anything outside, only violent shaking and a heavy, suffocating darkness pressing in from all sides.
[Teleportation remaining: 5 minutes]
She struggled to stay upright as a strong sense of weightlessness hit her, as if both she and the ground beneath her were being dragged along on a wild ride.
At the same time, she felt something else. A violent tearing force rippled through the air, like the elements themselves were being pulled apart.
Her understanding of magic was still shallow, so she had no idea whether this was real or simply an illusion caused by the teleportation.
