Chapter 80

That was exactly why Chloe wanted to grow Fleece-Grass.

She had 23 Fleece-Grass Seeds on hand.

In the Arcane Botany Compendium, Beatrice devoted a big chunk to Fleece-Grass.

She was clearly a pro at cultivating Fleece-Grass, but she had a real love-hate relationship with it.

In her previous notes and studies, most of her comparisons were made using Fleece-Grass.

The earlier sections Chloe read were mostly Beatrice’s experiments and notes on cultivating Fleece-Grass

Beatrice believed that before planting Fleece-Grass, the seeds had to be soaked precisely in Purification Spring Water for exactly 48 minutes-not a second more, not a second less.

If she left them in too long, the seeds could get overwhelmed and die from the high concentration of vitality

If she didn’t soak them long enough, the seeds wouldn’t get enough of a boost.

48 minutes was the sweet spot. That was when the Fleece-Grass seeds would have the highest germination rate once plant in the ground.

Chloe had previously managed to collect 10ml of Purification Spring Water. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to serve as perfect base for prepping the Fleece-Grass Seeds.

She took out the 10ml of Purification Spring Water, grabbed a wooden bucket, poured the water in, and then diluted it will some Premium Dew.

Once she felt the dilution was right, Chloe hesitated for a moment and then carefully added three Fleece-Grass Seeds ano the bucket.

Growing Fleece-Grass was a nightmare. Even Beatrice, who had all sorts of plant and Health magic tricks up her deeve, would totally lose her mind over it sometimes.

Chloe was ready for the grind ahead.

She used the system to set a timer and then stepped outside Snow was falling thick and fast, and night had already settled

The instant the Snow Spirit Crystal touched the rune, a frosty mini-whirlwind whipped up around it, swirling visibly in t

air.

Her palm tingled with icy cold.

Right then, a System Notification sounded in her car. [Completed crafting a Basic Magic Rune. Craftsmanship Points +80

Chloe held the Ice Magic Rume in her hand, her eyes lit up.

She immediately walked over to the Arcane Forge and started crafting the Arcane Refrigerator.

The notification showed: [Do you want to use 1 Ice Magic Rune, 10 Black Crystal Iron Ore, and I Snow Spirit Crystal to fr the Arcane Refrigerator?

[Estimated crafting time: 2 hours.]

Looks like this is going to take more time,’ Chloe thought.

She let out a silent sigh, clicked confirm, and glanced over at the Arcane Workbench with a touch of pity.

‘Man, this Arcane Workbench is really getting worked to the bone. It’s probably never going to catch a break. Chloe thoug

It was almost 8 PM, so Chloe opened her messages to check if anyone wanted to work with her on the tissue business.

To her surprise, there were loads of people lining up to pre-order tissues and pads.

MintyGrass: [OMG. Pads. How do you sell them? How do I pre-order? My period’s been driving me crazy these past few days.]

Moonlit Drinker: [Hey, do you do bulk orders?]

BalladWalker: [I want custom A4 paper. What do you accept for payment? And what’s your price?]

Her Private Messages were about to explode.

Chloe glanced at her messages and saw that quite a few women were looking for pads.

For players who’d learned to use pads in the modern world, one of the toughest things about surviving the apex aly jise was not having any at all.

Chloe realized dus could be a highly lucrative product

Chlors attenton shifted to a player who had messaged her

She was in greater need of Plant Fibers and Plastic Scraps, and the sales for A4 paper were pretty limited.

Still, Chloe tried to chat with Woodcutter, asking what kind of partnership he had in mind.

Chloe had finally realized she had a pretty big weakness.

After graduating, most of her jobs kept her in quiet places-like sorting books in a library. She was never good at negot or handling trades with people.

After dealing with Noble Scalper so many times, Chloe felt her flaw was getting more obvious with every transaction.

She knew she had to do something about it.

Chloe: [So, how do you want to work together?]

Woodcutter: [I’ll supply all the Wooden Logs you need, and you give me half of the pads you make. Deal?]

Her first instinct was to hit block on this guy.

Sure enough, pads were such a basic survival item. There was always someone eyeing the profits, trying to get a piece of

action.

Still, Chloe had to admit, the guts to throw out a bold offer and see how far he could push it was something she could lea

from.

Chloe: [I only accept a split of supplies.]

Woodcutter: [Okay, then how about trading 100 units of Wooden Logs for 2 units of basic soil supplies?!

Chloe: [Not considering it right now.]

Chloe closed the chat window with Woodcutter. She might need someone who could reliably supply large quantities of Wooden Logs in the future.

But she didn’t need his help right now.

I really need Plant Fibers and Plastic Scraps, Chloe thought to herself.
