Aethelgard: The Survival Game (Chloe) novel Chapter 81

A decomposer was italy unu

straight by the system.

Chloe: [Besides Plastic Scraps, is there anything else it can break down?]

TrashFisher: [Well… no harm in telling you. I can also break down Wooden Logs into Plant Fibers and wood fibers. And fabric into Burlap Cloth.]

‘Plant Fibers, Chloe thought.

Chloe: [Would you consider selling the Decomposer? I can offer you a price you won’t want to refuse.]

Thinking about her Magic Rune Refrigerator, Chloe couldn’t help but feel that, in her own way, she’d already become a b of a low-key big shot herself.

TrashFisher: [Nope, not for sale. I need these Expansion Facilities for something else.]

Chloe: [Alright. How many Plant Fibers do you have left?]

TrashFisher: [Not much. I need Wooden Logs to get Plant Fibers, but I don’t have any left to break down.]

Chloe: [Can you tell me the exchange rate for the Decomposer?]

There was a brief pause on the other end.

TrashFisher: [1 Wooden Log can be exchanged for 20 Plant Fibers.]

It was only after TrashFisher mentioned the 1:20 breakdown ratio that Chloe noticed something unusual.

A number suddenly appeared above their head.

The number showed there was a 95% chance he was lying.

In Chloe’s status bar, the Eye of the Sorceress-a skill granted by her Pale Sorceress title-was flashing.

Whenever Chloe was reading, she’d remember that the Pale Sorceress title gave her a boost in learning speed.

So she usually kept it equipped-except when she was posting in the global/chat, then she’d take it off just to be safe.

The Sorceress title was too much of a giveaway.

Still, Chloe hadn’t expected this twist.

Even after unequipping the Sorceress title, she realized she still had the Eye of the Sorceress skill.

The skill’s effect? It let her spot lies, plain and simple.

The skills granted by Achievement titles were downright overpowered, like cheat codes in the game.

Noticing the 95% lie indicator pop up, Chloe realized the exchange rate between Wooden Logs and Plant Fibers was more or less legit. They were stashing a couple for themselves.

Chlor had traded with TrashFisher right from the start of the game. They were always straightforward and even gave her a bunch of Plastic Scraps for free.

They were definitely someone she’d be happy to keep working with long-term.

Chapter 81

Chloe: [Let’s work together. Not gonna lie, I really need Plant Fibers.

5736 vouchers

[I’ll give you Wooden Logs. You turn them into Plant Fibers for me and toss in a set amount of Plastic Scraps.

[Here’s the deal. If I hand over 10 logs, you process 7 of them into Plant Fibers for me, and throw in 10 Plastic Scraps to match. How’s that sound?]

TrashFisher: [Oh, heck yeah. I’m totally down for this. This deal is perfect for me-count me in.]

TrashFisher had always used the Decomposer as her personal junk recycler. The trash she fished up was pretty much useless.

If she let it pile up in her territory, the system would hit her with a warning and slap a debuff on her land

Plus, she couldn’t just chuck it into the abyss next door. If she dumped too much, she would get all kinds of debuffs. TrashFisher was also moonlighting as a trash collector in global chat, with her main gig being getting paid by other players to haul away their junk and keep her supplies flowing.

Otherwise, with her luck, pulling up trash was her usual. She’d never have gotten this far in the game.

TrashFisher: [How about this-if you hand over 10 Wooden Logs, I’ll toss in 30 Plastic Scraps. That’s three times the log count, plus 140 Plant Fibers.

[And if you ever want to buy Plastic Scraps, I’ll hook you up with a crazy low price-1 basic Wooden Log gets you 8 Plastic Scraps. Just remember, if you’re buying Plastic Scraps, you gotta come to me first.]

For Chloe, this was a total steal. She was basically making bank.

Chloe: [Deal.]

Then the system said: [Player Chloe Bennett entered into a trade contract with TrashFisher, with materials to be exchanged according to the agreed terms above. The contract will last for 3 months.

If either party breaks the contract, 30% of their territory’s resources will be forfeited and reclaimed by the system.]

Chloe glanced at the contract and saw that the system had made the terms way more user-friendly than before. The only thing was that the contract duration had been extended to three months.

Chloe wasn’t sure if prices would change down the line, but right now, she was definitely making a killing.

Once her supply chain was secured, Chloe glanced at the remaining Wooden Logs in her warehouse. She handed over 65 logs to TrashFisher and got 1000 Plant Fibers in exchange.

TrashFisher also threw in 150 Plastic Scraps as a freebie.

Chloe then used 40 Common Wooden Logs to trade for all the Plastic Scraps TrashFisher still had.

Chloe now had 460 Plastic Scraps, plus another 1,000 Plant Fibers/in the works.

TrashFisher said she could handle about 400 Plant Fibers a day out of the 1,000 batch.

That was more than enough.

Chloe immediately opened her System Panel, brought up the Paper Maker, stopped making Tissues, and set sanitary pad production to the max.

In a single day, she’d go through 100 Plastic Scraps and 250 Plant Fibers to churn out 50 sanitary pads.

With the materials Chloe had on hand, plus a bit more Plant Fibers, she could make around 230 sanitary pads.

All told, it worked out to Chloe spending 100 Wooden Logs to make 230 sanitary pads.

With her production costs sorted, Chloe now had to decide who’d actually need these sanitary pads and who she should be selling them to.

Chloe had already seen plenty of chatter about this in the global chat.
