Aethelgard: The Survival Game (Chloe) novel Chapter 87

Chapter 87

Chloe wasn’t surprised at all.

Just like with the Blessed Arcane Defense Tower, all the materials used could be found somewhere on the tower itself

The same went for other fragical constructs.

This fantasy world had its own unique rules, completely different from the laws of science in the real world!

Chloe thought, If I were a physicist, I’d probably be blown away by how different this fantasy world is from the real one and I’d want to dig into it.

But honestly, all I care about is figuring out the rules here so I can live a better life.

The magical refrigerator didn’t take up much space, and it was the right size for the Slime Cabin, but honestly, getting through the door was seriously cramped.

Chloe made a mental todo list.

Once the Glass Panes were ready, she’d build a glass greenhouse, upgrade all the wooden huts with rabbit fur insulation, and then level up the buildings.

If she managed to gather enough materials later, she might even try blessing the huts with her Talent Blessing.

Chloe had everything planned out.

She walked over to the Arcane Workbench, and by now, the base of the workbench was already covered in mud.

Oddly enough, Chloe could almost sense that the Arcane Workbench was filled with resentment.

Chloe cleared her throat.

She checked the Arcane Workbench’s timer. It would take until the day after tomorrow to finish making all the Sulfur- Crystal Glass.

Since the Arcane Workbench had a mind of its own, Chloe tried to strike a deal with it. Tell you what, if you finish your work ahead of schedule, all the extra time is your vacation.

And I’ll even throw in an extra day off. How does that sound? It’s not like I’m trying to work you to the bone.

Once the SulfurCrystal Glass is ready, I can build a gorgeous, seethrough glass greenhouse, and you’ll get to move in and work there. Imagine having a clean, comfy place to worksounds good, right?

Think about it. Even taking it easy is still part of the job, and picking up the pace counts too. The faster you finish, the !sooner you get to relax, right?

The magical runes on the Arcane Workbench seemed to scan Chloe as it lumbered and shined, almost like it was sizing her

  1. up.

Then, the workbench’s pace suddenly picked up.

Chloe checked again. Over a hundred pieces of SulfurCrystal Glass that were supposed to take until the day after tomorrow would now be ready by tomorrow morning.

Man, you’re a real pro at slacking off,Chloe thought.

For a split second, Chloe totally understood the mindset of those evil corporate bosses. If it can work this fast, why not push

it to do even more?

But the thought disappeared as quickly, and she couldn’t help but ford

Chloe cast her gaze across her domain

She pulled out the stone brick road blueprint she’d just received.

She selected it to activate.

These territory construction blueprints were downright magicalonce unlocked, a road planning it appeared on her System Panel.

Maybe it was the land management system at work, but there was also a recommended land design menu nght nevide

Chloe drew a stone brick path along the guidelines on her territory map. The interface even let her choose how

road would be.

She could also set how high the road would be raised above the ground.

Below that, it showed exactly how many stone blocks she’d need to build the road

After looking over the options for a while, Chloe decided to lay out a stone brick path circling the Slime Cabin marking our the area in square sections.

She used the stone road to divide up each section.

Once Chloe finished mapping things out, the area was divided into blocks. One held the Slime Cabin, another circled the Arcane Workbench, and a third marked the planting zone.

A separate block contained the Snow Canopy and fishing spot. There was also one for the Arcane Defense Tower, and the last was reserved for a metallurgy workshop still under construction.

After she hit confirm, the stone blocks she’d gotten in her warehouse dropped by 348 in one go.

The notification read: [Remaining construction time: 30 minutes]

Chloe thought, No matter how much I stockpile, it’s never enough.

Good thing those sanitary pads came in handy.

With the territory zoning map to help her, Chloe knew she could easily adjust the roads later if she wanted. So she went ahead and built the roads, even adding a bunch of streetlights along the way.

In no time at all, the beginnings of a backyard garden took shape.

This is great, Chloe thought.

Once she was sure her territory was all set, she kicked back with her daily fishing session, and of course, kept peddling her sanitary pads and premium dew on the side.

Honestly, the global chat was packed with all kinds of quirky itemsthings like electric kettles, chairs, curtains, mugs, toothbrushes, and even bathroom mirrors.

There was everything imaginable. Some everyday stuff was dirt cheap, too.

For once, Chloe actually had some free time, so she was scrolling through the global chat. It felt like browsing a department

store.

She doublechecked that she had enough basic supplies, and most of these common items were being traded for plair, old Wooden Logs.

Chloe traded 30 units of Wooden Logs for a toothbrush, a towel, some curtains, and a nightstand.

Then she swapped 100 units of Wooden Logs and 100 units of stone blocks for a bathroom expansion blueprin

Chloe noticed some players were still struggling to get enough to eat, trading Cubic Yard Soil Plots for food.

She traded five portions of barbecued Rabbit Meat and a lamb leg for two Cubic Yard Soil Plots.

That was some serious profit.

No wonder Noble Scalper threw their weight around.

Chloe also noticed that during the tenday starter phase, some players were thriving while others lagged behind.

Some, like NobleScalper and MintyGrass, managed to pile up resources through special tricks and snowballed their way to rapid growth, while others were still struggling to get their hands on the basics even by day ten.

Chloe also made a bunch of small trades, spending a total of 115 units of Wooden Logs, 45 units of iron ore, and 32 units of stone blocks.

In return, she got 22 seeds, a drainage pipe blueprint, a fence blueprint, seven Terra Break Skill Tomes, and a fragment of a

torn map.

That was a total steal.
